Week 3 Day 3:

Today we humble ourselves, recognizing our neediness and God’s greatness. We temper our desires in light of the eager expectation of being gathered to God’s presence once and for all. “I was glad when they said, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord’” (Psalm 122:1).

Week 3: Days 1&2

The Lord keeps His pilgrim people. He is a refuge to his children in distress. Father, you are our keeper, you don’t slumber or sleep. May we remain alert in prayer and abound with hope. Revive us, O Lord!

Church Renewal Prayer Guide

Finally be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-11).

Lord Jesus we are in a great battle- but we praise you that you have already won. As we gather to worship corporately today may we be mindful of the schemes of the evil one and may we combat those with the strength that only you supply! May we stand on your promises!

Week Two Day 5: Walking Out our New Identity in Christ

In light of Ephesians 4:17-24, let us embrace the identify we receive from you and not attempt to achieve one of our own making. Both our salvation and our identity are not our own doing (Eph. 2:8).

Week 2 Day 4: Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together . . . makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love (Eph. 4:15-16).

Lord, may we recall that as members, we are not members in a club, but members of a body.

Week 2 Day 3:

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:13-14).

Thank you for bringing us near by our Lord's sacrifice and breaking down the hostility that would naturally separate us. Help us to walk worthy of our calling together in Christ!

Day 2: O God not only do we doubt your power but your willingness to exercise your power toward the church.

May You who are able do beyond what we ask or think in the church be present with us both now and forever (Ephesians 3:20).

Day 5: Guard Our Hearts

Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life (ESV).

Tim Keller says that the heart is the seat of your deepest trusts, commitments, and loves from which everything flows. What the heart most loves and trusts, the mind will find reasonable, the emotions desirable and the will find doable (God's Wisdom for Navigating Life, pg. 85).

Oh Father, may our hearts, minds, imaginations, emotions, wills be oriented toward You amid the distraction and discouragement of a broken world. Help us to guard our heart together, together for the Gospel!
