A Devotional Thought From The Desk of Pastor Gage:
The Question That Sees Past the Chaos
In the opening story of Mark chapter 5, Jesus asks “What is your name?” not to label the mess, but to reclaim the person buried beneath it. Where others saw a howling, chain-breaking menace; Jesus saw a person worth restoring. His question pierces through layers of shame, addiction, and brokenness to affirm an inherent dignity found in the identity of this one simple truth: you are a creation of the Creator and a child of God Himself. Transformation occurs when Jesus confronts that which everyone else has written off. The demons shouted in response to the question— but it was the man whom Jesus addressed.
John 8:34-36 CEB:
34 Jesus answered, “I assure you that everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 A slave isn’t a permanent member of the household, but a son is. 36 Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you really will be free.
