Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 by a group of Catholic university students, led by Frederic Ozanam. After seeking help from Sister Rosalie Rendu of the Daughters of Charity, and instituting as President Emmanuel Bailly, a publisher of a Catholic newspaper, the students took St. Vincent de Paul as the patron of their organization. Their mission was to go to those in need and bring them God's lo
