We all have expectations of friends, and over the course of a lifetime it seems like a list of true friends is not that long.

However, did you know the Bible talks about being a friend to God and God being a friend to us? It’s true! And although we know God as Savior, Deliverer, King and so much more…do we know what it looks like to know him as Friend and to be known by him as his friend, as well?

Oh my goodness, what a thought…

The darkness hasn’t overcome the light, and it never will. When we keep our eyes on Him, we don’t have to stumble around in the dark.
Light really is everything.

Luke 11 reminds us that the eye is the lamp of the body. If we’re not seeing Jesus clearly — if we’re focused on the wrong things — we can sit in darkness while holding a lamp in our hands. That’s sobering.

Maybe it’s time to check our lamps.
Are they plugged in? Visible? Lighting up the room?

“Light burdens.”
Those two words don’t seem like they belong together… and yet Jesus said they do.
He says that His yoke is different. Not endless rules. Not striving. Just love and grace. Shared weight. Rest for your soul.
So if the world feels heavy, maybe it’s time to lay down the lists and pick up the light.

You know those people who just light up a room when they walk in? A smile, a kindness, a presence can change the whole atmosphere.
God’s presence does the same—bringing light, joy, and peace right where we are. Acclaiming Him, rejoicing in who He is, celebrating what He’s done… it’s amazing how that kind of light carries us through the day.
