Good Friday Gathering as Faith Baptist Church - Tonight 7pm

We hope you will join us Friday at 7pm as we gather to remember the death of Christ. On Sunday we are going to celebrate that Jesus is alive, but first it is important for us to consider His death on our behalf.

We hope you will plan to be with us in person as we sing, read Scripture, pray and share the Lord's Supper.

Join us in welcoming Pastor Matthew Breeden and his family to Faith Baptist! We are excited for what the Lord will do through this ministry and the joining of two congregations.

Meet the Breeden Family!
Matthew and Michelle moved to Round Rock in 2011 to plant Southern Hills Baptist Church where Matthew has continued to serve as a pastor for the last 12 years. They have four boys, Parker (9), Graham (6), Owen (2) and Bennett (10 months). Matthew and Michelle love Christ, His Church and Round Rock and are eager to join with Faith Baptist for the sake of the Gospel in the community they love.

This Sunday we will be gathering for the final time as Southern Hills and we are going to celebrate!

We are going to be celebrating all that God has done in and through us as well as what is to come as we join with Faith Baptist Church. He has been so kind, and we are looking forward to this opportunity to thank Him for His blessings.

Here's what you need to know

- We are going to have visitors - We have invited friends to come and celebrate with us. We hope you will plan to arrive early to welcome each other and spend time with our guests (there is no Sunday school this week - we will begin at 10am).

- Lunch will be provided - It's a special day, which means we are going to have a special lunch. Lunch will be provided from Rudy's BBQ. We hope you will all plan to stay and spend time together.

- Bring a dessert - If you want to contribute to our lunch celebration you can bring a dessert to share.

- First Sunday - It is first Sunday, so the kids will be with us in the main gathering and we will also share the Lord's Supper (nursery will be provided as normal).

We will be singing a new (to us) song on Sunday! This song is a great reminder of the fact that Christ is our strong refuge and He is ready to show His love and care for us.

Here are some Scriptures that are referenced in the song.

John 7:37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink."

John 4:13–14 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Matthew 11:28–30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

It's almost Sunday!

Tomorrow is the first Sunday of the month which means we will be sharing two meals together. First, we will share of the Lord's Table and then following the service we will have a potluck lunch. We hope you will bring a dish or desert and plan to stay for lunch.

Also, starting at 9am we will be continuing our walk through Genesis - this week we are in Genesis 4. Come early - you will be encouraged!

As we work our way through 2 Timothy 1 on Sunday, this song is a good reminder. We are called to be unashamed stewards - guarding, protecting and sharing the Gospel.

But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me. Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. 2 Timothy 1:12-14

"This letter is both timely and timeless. For what can be more important today than to rightly guard and give the Gospel to the next generation? It is often said that we are one generation away from losing the Gospel. If the Gospel is assumed in one generation, it will be neglected, ignored and/or abandoned in the next. We must keep guarding, suffering for, continuing in, and proclaiming the Gospel." - Tony Merida

Join us tomorrow as we begin our walk through the letter of 2 Timothy.

You won't want to miss this new study led by E. Stephen Burnett - starts Sunday at 9am!

Who is God? Why do you exist? What is our world?

New years bring old questions. People attempt many answers, from religion to politics, motivational speeches, and new identities. Holy Scripture, however, shares our only true origin story. This season, we explore Genesis 1–11, our Creator’s history of early man. Let’s rediscover this almighty God and the reasons He created us to glorify Him forever—and the promised Redeemer we need to fulfill His resolution for us.

In this week’s course introduction, we’ll plan our mission and consider what kind of book Genesis is. We’ll touch a few controversies as we clarify our reading strategy!

Then next Sunday, we begin reading Genesis together, one chapter a week for 11 weeks.
