Galatians 6: 6 – 10
“Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

For thousands of years since the birth of the Christian church, Satan has sought to marginalize or eliminate the transformative power of the Holy Spirit and to prevent the ushering and manifestation of God’s kingdom on earth. Why? Because all of these expose Satan’s kingdom, render his works to not prosper, and to destroy all of his strongholds and works. When a gentile comes into the knowledge of Jesus Christ, Satan moves to limit the scope of this newfound Truth. For Satan’s kingdom and curses to remain hidden, he requires that the new Christian remain in their flesh and to practice their faith through their flesh. This is why there are so many doctrinal churches that all claim to be righteous and correct towards Jesus Christ in form. The reason there are so many denominations is the result of Satan’s influence to divide the Body of Christ and subvert the Truth of the purpose and power of the Holy Spirit. Many Christians know who the Holy Spirit is, but they don’t know how to walk in Him. They don’t understand the purpose of the Holy Spirit is to fully reveal all things in Jesus Christ and the hidden oracles of God that cannot be ascertained through the mind. They also don’t understand the incredible power that the Holy Spirit operates in, especially in the arena of personal transformation in healing and identity. Simply, Satan has manipulated bible believers because they are operating in their flesh through doctrinal channels. Because of this, Satan can continue to rob, steal, and kill them even though they have accepted Jesus Christ into their heart. I implore you to awaken yourself to this reality so that you do not remain as a victim of Satan’s master plan over the Body of Christ.

All Christians start out sowing in corruption as they did before their conversion to faith in Jesus Christ. All Christians start out as children in faith requiring initially milk in their early days but if they don’t move on soon afterward to “meat” they will continue to sow into corruption. To reap by the Spirit and no longer of the flesh that reaps corruption, is the transitional change that a Christian must go through. Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is the only way this transition can happen. It is imperative that Christians when they are young in their faith move on to maturity. The transition is straight forward, move from a milk standard of teaching to the “meat” standard which is hearing and obeying the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ. The “meat” is not a doctrine or a theological construct that attempts to apprehend Truth. Rather the “meat” is the prophecy and revelation that is spoken by the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ directly and personally to the Believer. The word spoken by the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ that we hear and obey is powerful and transformative. This connectivity to God our Father operates on the highest spiritual plain. This standard is hidden and beyond apprehension and comprehension through human channels of reasonings. Reaping by the Spirit is not a terrestrial earthly characteristic but one that pertains only to the realm that God our Father exist in. Weariness occurs in someone who is approaching their breaking point of continuing on in a particular matter or journey. In reaping by the Spirit, it is a sure thing that a Christian will face resistance and various forms of oppression by this world, their flesh, and Satan’s kingdom. A Christian who is seeking to reap according to the Spirit must be strongly rooted in Jesus Christ and also well supported by other Christians who are doing the same. But if Christians remain as babes in Jesus Christ living their faith on a milk doctrine, then how can they move on to maturity in order to reap by the Spirit? This is unfortunately the case for many Christians.

Our Daily Bread

Galatians 6: 6 – 10 (Continued)

“They are still enabling their old nature to partake in faith. “

Genisis 4: 6 - 7

“So, the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

Is sin still not crouching at the door for all Christians? What is the door that it lies at? It’s the door of the flesh that by its own nature responds to temptation. Before the New Covenant of Jesus Christ, the testimony of salvation, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit both in the baptism of water and secondly the baptism of the Spirit the Righteous Law of God was the only standard to overcome temptation. The law could not transform a person from their old incarnate state to the new state of the new man who operates through the Holy Spirit. In other words, the law was created for those who had no other option than to live by their own flesh. This law was given to the nation of Israel that was fathered by Jacob. God our Father chose Israel as His people and made them His election. However, sin kept consuming the nation of Israel because they had no hope by the only standard they had which were the works of their flesh. Jesus Christ destroyed the standard of the law by becoming the word of God that was flesh and blood as a man. The requirement was that God would have to give Himself as the sacrifice. However, this Sacrifice had to do what was impossible by those who kept the law. He had to remain sinless without spot. Perfect in righteousness and in holiness as a man. Only a man free from the defect of sin and righteous as God is, could qualify as the sacrifice. This was the only standard that could destroy the seemingly impossible stronghold of sin and death that had enslaved humanity since the fall of man from the Garden of Eden. Jesus Christ executed the will of God to free humanity of this curse by dying on the Cross of Calvary. And furthermore, death was also defeated by His resurrection from the dead on the third day. Because of this, God glorified Jesus Christ and sat Him at His right hand. All power, authority, and dominion were given to Jesus Christ over all of creation. It is for the power, authority, and dominion of Jesus Christ alone that sin could be defeated for every believer in Jesus Christ. But this can only happen according to the conditions set by God our Father. If a Christian remains in their flesh by not crucifying it as a follower of Jesus Christ, then they by their flesh will remain as Cain did. Christian doctrines and theologies do not address in a supernatural way the transformation of a Christian from their flesh state to the renewed state that Jesus Christ created for us to become through His sacrifice and exaltation. The law is for the flesh, but the Holy Spirit when we walk in Him removes a Christian from the curse of the law that Israel and Cain were under.

Our Daily Bread

Galatians 6: 6 – 10 (Continued)

To repent from sin is to turn away from the acts that cause sin. What does it mean to repent from a biblical context?

Repentance means a complete change of mind and heart that causes a person to turn away from sin and turn back to God. It is a total shift in direction, not just feeling sorry for a mistake.

How do you define repentance and how do you practice being repentant? I can tell you from personal experience that in many cases I thought I had repented from sin when in fact I had not. Repentance was more like an acknowledgement of a sinful act before God with some level of remorse attached to it. I ask you, is that actual repentance? No. Did I plead the blood of Jesus Christ? Yes. However, the cycle of sin of iniquity remained and I would once again find myself in the same position of guilt and moral sorrow before the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 6: 1 - 14

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”

This issue with the repeating sin of iniquity, is that the Christian is not living a crucified level of faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. They are still enabling their old nature to partake in faith.

Our Daily Bread

Galatians 6: 6 – 10 (Continued)

In order to sow in the Spirit a Christian must overcome their flesh. Many Christians lose heart on the matter of persevering in order to reap the righteous fruit of God’s promises. Satan will not put up with or accept Christians reaping through the Spirit. He will launch aggressive demonic campaigns to discourage, distract, and divide the heart of a Christian. Reaping through the Holy Spirit is spiritual warfare. This warfare exists within the members of our flesh. All members of the flesh by their own nature war against the Spirit and God’s kingdom. It’s the pride of the flesh, the pride of life, and the lust of the mind and eyes. Church bodies today are not discipling through the Spirit others who struggle to persevere in order to reap according to the Spirit. The serial practice of the sin of iniquity is the unclean fruit of a Christian who lacks the discipline and resolve to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. They surrender their own freewill to become a prisoner and slave of darkness. How can one claim to know Jesus Christ and remain this way? How then will they pass through the Narrow Gate that leads to eternal life? There is one important ingredient that is required to reap in due season the promises of God through the Spirit. This ingredient is to fear the Lord which is the beginning of both wisdom and knowledge. If a person is low on money, why not just rob a bank? Many have a financially insufficient life so why not make a living being like Bonnie and Clyde? The reason is that doing so will result in their fate or a lifetime of imprisonment. The cost is just too high to attempt such a thing, not to mention it is morally wrong. In the same way, Christians need to understand that there are consequences to practicing the sin of iniquity. That is sin that a Christian know is sin before, during, and after the God forbidden conduct. Sure, all sin can be covered from judgement by the blood of Jesus Christ, but there are still consequences. A man can be penitent for a crime before a jury, but there will still be a consequence to their unlawful action. This same is true with the sin of iniquity. Christ nor God will condemn such to hell but there will still be a consequence because spiritual law was violated through the principle of the unrighteous affliction. For example, if a man or woman fornicates with different partners or commits adultery, then there will be a consequence on a spiritual level. First of all, all evil and curses of one partner will pass on to the other during the fornicative act. Adultery in a marriage will inevitably lead to divorce and family breakdown even if the unfaithful partner repents. The scripture warns against s*x outside of marriage or between members of the same s*x and with animals. These have spiritual consequences even though they can be forgiven. Understand that all sin of iniquity will set a Christian back even though a penitent heart has pleaded the blood of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 6: 6 – 10 (Continued)

Again, are you a sower of what only Jesus Christ can produce as a branch on His vine or you a withering Christian who sows not according to God but the flesh? A religious, self-righteous Christian, or one that has turned their faith into a doctrine are all sowers of corruption. Examine yourself now! What are you personally sowing and can you see the results in your life that only Jesus Christ can produce? Are you close enough to a true sower by the Spirit? Do even know what that looks like? Can you distinguish the sowing of corruption by the flesh versus the Spirit? My sense is that many Christians do not know how to or even acknowledge this need. According to the scriptures authored only by the Holy Spirit, our faith and transformation is solely based on following others who have gone ahead of us in fruitfulness and God’s favor. A standalone Christian or an uninvolved one that is not committed to imitating and following a more mature Christian, is one who is living out their lives in curses. Faith based theology is useless because it is untransormative by denying the complete works of the Spirit and denies Jesus Christ from being the author and creator of a Christian’s potential fruitfulness. It’s time for Christians to quit living their lives in a faith that is unproductive through Jesus Christ compared to what could be possible if the Christian could engage in the living and transformative works of the Spirit in a church that produces disciples in Jesus Christ. I pray that each of you will reconcile your hearts to Jesus Christ concerning these matters. If you are ready for true change in your life by the power and testimony of Jesus Christ, then I invite you to become a part of Throne of Grace Church. Get off the status quo of a corrupt and lukewarm faith and move on to obtaining your birth right inheritance by becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ.
