Youth on the RISE

Youth on the RISE RISE exists to minister to and serve all youth, 6th-12th grade. We are a part of New Hope 365 in Rou To learn more, please explore our website or contact us.

Permanently closed.

The youth are the primary focus of this ministry; more specifically, their personal relationship with Jesus. We hope that each youth, through RISE, will become a mature adult who has established their own personal walk with Jesus; ready to serve His Kingdom every day as they move out from under their parent’s umbrella into the life that God has for them. It is a great honor to have the opportunity to share the love of Christ with youth.

If you could only use one form of media for the rest of your life, what would it be?⠀

I think we can all agree that it would be really hard to choose just one form of media because honestly, all of us are probably using all kinds of media every single day. It's become a normal part of our lives. Let’s talk about what that might mean for our lives! ⠀

Head on over to the RISE page of our website to watch this week's video and then jump in on the conversation as we begin a new topic this week: MEDIA

Have you been to an orchestra performance where just one person plays an instrument? Or a football game where just one player plays the whole game? Of course not! In an orchestra or on a football team, each person has a unique role that’s important for the overall success of the group. In the same way, God has made each of us for a special purpose with a unique role to play in this life. And in order to fully experience the life God has intended for us, we can’t do it alone. We must bring our unique talents and gifts together in harmony with others. ⠀

This week, think about what individual strengths you bring to our group and talk through with your parents how you can use your gifts to encourage others⠀

Don't forget we have a new video and discussion up this week on the RISE page of the New Hope 365 website. We'd love for you to check it out and let us know your thoughts!

Have you ever met someone who is hard to love? Maybe even someone who is simply hard to like? Just think about it for a moment... maybe it's a classmate, a person on your team, a family member or even someone in your Small Group. While we may not always find it easy to like everyone, in scripture Paul paints us the picture of how we can set our differences aside to find a way to love everyone. Now he’s not talking about fake friendship or false kindness, but real, genuine love that can only come from God. While it may not always be easy, God can unite us with His love. Pray today and ask God to give you a real love for others in your life. And if you're struggling with loving someone, we encourage you to reach out to a leader or friend who can pray with you, encourage you and even help keep you accountable as you grow to love this person.

Standing back as a youth leader over the years and just watching what happens when y'all get together to just hang out is really cool to watch. Despite your differences, you all just seem to enjoy being around each other. You don’t seem to see the things that could divide you. You simply enjoy friendship and making memories together. Just think about all the memories you have had over your years in youth group. It's pretty cool right? Well this verse reminds all of us that in the same way that young kids and students can find common ground, we as Christians are united by our faith. We are no longer on opposite teams, divided by anything. Rather, we are sons and daughters of the same Father, all adopted into the same family. Here's your thought for the week: How would your life look different if you tried to treat others this way this week—like they were a part of your same family? Now head on over to the RISE page on our website (link in bio) to watch a new video explaining how we got to where we are, and then click the button to join in the conversation. We want to hear from you! It's these conversations that help us grow and learn!

Guess what?!? While our youth still aren't able to meet in person, WE ARE BACK to dedicating our Wednesday social media to YOU - the Next Generation. Last night we kicked off our new social series called "Trending" in which we examine important issues that youth are dealing with and trying to make sense of today. We begin this series with the topics of race and ethnicity.

Head on over to the RISE page of our website (link in bio) to watch a 15 minute video on the subject. Then click the link on the page, or return here to join in with your questions and comments on what you've seen and heard. We hope that you will connect and engage with us, and tune in every Wednesday for more!
