Will you please help us congratulate Cece on her baptism this past Sunday?! 🎉🙌 Cece is a former Connect Youth student who gave her life to Jesus after working at a Christian camp this past summer. We are so glad that God allowed New Hope to be just a little part of her story. After she was baptized, we closed the service in worship, singing a song that the Lord had used in her life to bring her closer to Him. Congratulations, Cece!

Sermon Notes August 23:
1. Who we are matters. We work for Jesus.
2. Leaders matter. We should aspire to live in a way that continually lifts the name of Jesus.
3. The Gospel matters. We should not add anything to Jesus as a qualification for salvation.

This Thursday as we sent of one of our interns, Micah Hartman as he moves out of state, he shared with us that he had not been baptized. Because he was leaving the very next day, he made the decision to be baptized right then and there. Our staff surrounded him and prayed for him, bore witness to his testimony, and worshiped the Lord together in a moment we will never forget. We are so glad that Micah declared his faith on Thursday and that we got to celebrate with him as we sent him off into his next adventure. Will you join us in congratulating Micah on this huge step?

We are saddened by the loss of our friend Harry Tieman, who was a foundational member of New Hope. He poured out love on so many people here and will forever have a legacy of the kingdom work that he did and the joy that he brought. There will be a celebration of Harry's life hosted at New Hope Christian Community. We will update with details very soon.

Thank you for joining us for our largest picnic ever! We had such an amazing time celebrating baptisms and enjoying the beautiful weather with you all.

Church family, don't miss our annual picnic happening this Sunday at 10am at the Nippersink Forest Preserve! Once a year, we get together as our entire congregation to worship and fellowship together!

This year, we are so excited to get to celebrate with multiple people who have given their lives to Jesus and will be baptized! You don't want to miss it.

After service, we'll have a potluck! Please bring a dish to pass, and don't forget to bring your all if you want to win our side dish competition!
