Join us for a powerful morning of remembrance, reflection, and community as we honor the lives of 14 individuals once known only to God.

In 2016, several community organizations came together to ensure these men, women, and children received a dignified reburial at St. Agnes Cemetery. Now, ten years later, we invite you to stand with us once again at the African Burial Ground Remembrance Ceremony as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the burial groundโ€™s founding.

This meaningful gathering is an opportunity to honor those who were denied their freedom, recognize their humanity, and ensure their stories are never forgotten. Your presence helps keep their memory alive.

Your donations are being spent wisely. Among improvements to roads and hazardous tree removals, we are also allocating funds to repair historic gravestones that have been broken for decades. This stone was in a deplorable state of disrepair. It is beautiful now!

Little Francis died in 1880, shortly after his first birthday.

I found these interesting wooden blocks that have a thin metal plate with images of our old receiving vault and notable burial sites located in St. Agnes Cemetery. Iโ€™m guessing they are really old camera negatives. Can anyone confirm what they are? They are so cool!
