"Before surrendering my life to Christ, I very much lived as a Sunday Christian. I never really implemented what I learned or believed into my life. I tried to live life on my terms and in my control, while operating under the illusion that I was obeying God.
Because of that, doors slammed in my face, doors I wanted more than anything in the world. And I was left crushed, insecure, and very much lost.
After I met my fiancée, we started having conversations about faith and our different upbringings. She would ask me questions, and I didn't always have answers for her. So I started looking for answers and didn't really love what I was finding. That led me to explore the Bible more deeply. The more I read, the more shocked I became. As silly as it sounds, I couldn't believe how much I was able to learn simply by reading the Bible and seeking God with a genuine heart.
It's been a long and difficult journey, but today I feel free. After giving my life to Christ, there is nothing I would change for anything in this world.
I want to thank my mom and my dad, and my brother and sister, for their unbelievable support and love, and for never letting me go a day without knowing who Jesus truly is. I want to thank Dustin for all the annoying texts, questions, and meetings we've had. I want to thank my soon-to-be in-laws for all the conversations and questions I've had, and will continue to have, and for always responding with kindness and respect.
Finally, I want to thank my amazing fiancée for being the greatest gift God has ever given me. She's been one of the most important influences in my life, and I cannot thank her enough for being the catalyst for so much positive change. She truly is an incredible blessing, and I'm so grateful for her love, support, care, and guidance.
Today I want to share that I have trusted in the saving work of Jesus. He is my Lord and Savior!"
