"Before surrendering my life to Christ, I very much lived as a Sunday Christian. I never really implemented what I learned or believed into my life. I tried to live life on my terms and in my control, while operating under the illusion that I was obeying God.
Because of that, doors slammed in my face, doors I wanted more than anything in the world. And I was left crushed, insecure, and very much lost.
After I met my fiancée, we started having conversations about faith and our different upbringings. She would ask me questions, and I didn't always have answers for her. So I started looking for answers and didn't really love what I was finding. That led me to explore the Bible more deeply. The more I read, the more shocked I became. As silly as it sounds, I couldn't believe how much I was able to learn simply by reading the Bible and seeking God with a genuine heart.
It's been a long and difficult journey, but today I feel free. After giving my life to Christ, there is nothing I would change for anything in this world.
I want to thank my mom and my dad, and my brother and sister, for their unbelievable support and love, and for never letting me go a day without knowing who Jesus truly is. I want to thank Dustin for all the annoying texts, questions, and meetings we've had. I want to thank my soon-to-be in-laws for all the conversations and questions I've had, and will continue to have, and for always responding with kindness and respect.
Finally, I want to thank my amazing fiancée for being the greatest gift God has ever given me. She's been one of the most important influences in my life, and I cannot thank her enough for being the catalyst for so much positive change. She truly is an incredible blessing, and I'm so grateful for her love, support, care, and guidance.
Today I want to share that I have trusted in the saving work of Jesus. He is my Lord and Savior!"

Seeking God isn't a feeling. It's a decision.
Open the Word. Pray honestly. Get around His people. Obey what you already know. Remove what's crowding your heart.

Which step will you start with?

Save for later and send to a friend.

Dustin may not be getting a call from the Atlanta Braves anytime soon. But he is called to something, and so are you.

Figuring out what God is calling you to next comes down to three things: people around you affirming your giftedness, a genuine desire inside you, and a willingness to do what it takes to prepare. All three matter.

Your calling is yours, a different lane, a different season, a different way God has uniquely positioned your life for His purposes.

Know someone who needs this today? Send it their way.

"Being raised in a Christian home and attending a Christian school, I assumed I knew who Jesus was. But over time, I began to understand something deeper: Knowing about Jesus is not the same as knowing Jesus.
In my late teens, I realized I needed to surrender my life to Christ. After, I began to see sin differently and understand the world from a new perspective. I came to realize that surrendering to Christ doesn't mean I would be sinless, but that I am forgiven and walking in the path of salvation because of Jesus.
After college, I married my wife, Crimson, one of the greatest gifts God has ever given me. Having her by my side has helped lead me to where I am today, including the decision to publicly proclaim my faith. Now I understand what it means to truly follow Him and why He is worthy of full surrender."

"As a toddler, I was left to live with my grandparents while my mom struggled with addiction. Even though I was raised in Christian school and involved in church, I held on to hurt and loneliness. I couldn't understand why God would allow this to happen. I began going to therapy to work through forgiveness, and I started praying, asking the Lord to lead me, even though I didn't fully understand what that meant.
Before college, I felt called to go on a mission trip to Africa. During that trip, I grew close to Luke, and, for the first time, I felt the Lord's protection and presence in my life.
Even though I had known about God my whole life, I still wrestled with why He allowed certain things in my story. Now I see the truth of Romans 8:28, that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him. Even the painful parts of my life were being used to shape me.
I want to encourage you: no matter what you are going through, your struggle is not too big for the Lord. He loves you, He is with you, and He is working in your life even when you don't understand it."
