Spring/Summer visiting hours began today!

Visiting hours are: 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday until October 31, 2026

South Park Cemetery staff will soon be removing all Christmas flowers and decorations that were left at gravesites.

People who would like to retrieve those items from gravesites should do so by Saturday, Jan. 31. Cemetery staff members plan to begin clearing and disposing of the Christmas items the first week of February.

Christmas items, which can deteriorate in the weather, are removed annually several weeks after the holiday to help keep the cemetery and individual gravesites well maintained and neat. South Park Cemetery thanks the public for its cooperation.

Daylight Savings time ends tomorrow and our Fall/Winter visiting hours begin. Starting Sunday November 2, 2025 gates will be closing at 5:00 p.m.

Fall/Winter visiting hours are as followed: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday including holidays.

Per Jim Burress, Special Services Director, there are over 32,000 headstones in South Park Cemetery. There is a plan to fill all sunken graves; however, there is a sequence of events. We will first be filling any sunken graves contained in the blocks where services will be held. The crews have been working non-stop to make this happen. Also, we must wait for certain areas to dry out as to not leave ruts. Jim is extremely proud of the crews for working as hard as they do as they also need to deal with their personal flooding issues. He appreciates your patience. All sunken graves, tree limbs, roads, irrigation, and day-to-day services will be taken care of with respect.
