For decades, Linda Sandridge has helped make our church-wide dinners welcoming, organized, and special. Her incredible planning, hard work, and care for her team have made a lasting impact on this ministry.

As she steps down from organizing our dinners, we’re so grateful for the time and heart she has poured into making Northbrook a place where everyone feels welcome. Join us in saying, thank you, Linda! 💙

Erich would like to welcome you to our “living room” (sanctuary)THIS Sunday for Youth Sunday! 🛋️

Both the 9 and 11 AM services will be led by our youth, who will even share a sermon on what it means to be the “living room” of our community.

So grab a friend, take a seat and get comfy. There’s room for you on our “couch” (or pew, if you want to get technical about it 😉).

This coming Sunday, we will celebrate our youth, who are such an important part of our community. It’s a great time to remember that listening to them is just as important as cheering them on.

As we reflect on the youth group as the living room of our community, it’s also a great time to think about how we connect, listen and have meaningful conversations with the young people in our lives.

On October 21, join Congregation Etz Chaim for a community conversation about connecting, listening and communicating with the young people in our lives. The event begins at 7 PM.

Yesterday, we wrapped up our sermon series, “The Ties That Bind.” And next Sunday, we’re going to keep that theme going as we “bind” our two services together for World Communion and Preschool Sunday! 🌎🍞

We’ll enjoy breads from around the world as we share in communion. And let’s be honest, bread really does bind us all together.

We’ll also celebrate the life of our Preschool with worship led by our Preschool students and staff, along with a special guest sermon from our very own, Dr. Chad Hunt.

As we welcome the first day of fall and start to feel those cooler temperatures, it’s time to save the date!

The best pumpkin patch around returns THIS weekend, September 27, beginning at 3:30 PM!

Skip the pumpkin run and come have some fall fun at the Northbrook UMC Pumpkin Patch! All proceeds benefit our incredibly talented choir. 🎶🧡

Want to help make it happen? If you’re on our email list, you can sign up to help load in the pumpkins on September 27 at 12 pm or volunteer to serve in the patch throughout the season.
