"Fire in the sky." It's a common term used by photographers, one I used to love. Currently, it takes on a different connotation. With wildfires blazing, the smoke choking us while outside, and local friends sharing pictures of flames cresting the top of the Blue Ridge, I am not sure I could use the phrase in the same way again. However, I captioned this photo taken earlier this year as fire in the sky, and it does appear that way.

The rain moves in tomorrow and I hope the wildfires subside so I can get back to doing what I love. Taking 📸 of the Blue Ridge.

Lindy Point Milky Way - Blackwater Falls State Park, WV

I've had a very narrow window to shoot any fall color this year. Fortunately, I had a couple nice evenings while working my days at the WVHighlands Artisans Gallery this weekend. Lindy Point was showing off some nice color between the Fall foliage and the warm twilight colors of the dying sun ushering in the final view of the Milky Way core as it descends below the horizon for the season.

The fall foliage is a highlight this time of year, but so are the more colorful sunrises and sunsets that happen in the fall (and intensify even further in the winter).
