The Rev. Dr. Pat Thompson is an ordained minister. He is often in demand as a wedding officiant.

Every human being is a creature of God who is honored and loved by the Creator, regardless of external considerations. In each life, there are many sacred moments, and there are special occasions that become rites of passage. Pastor Pat Thompson is a genuine and compassionate man who enjoys the company of fellow pilgrims on the journey of life. He recognizes that many people have some sense of the sacred, but may not be part of a religious fellowship. This is a ministry to all those who wear a human face and who need affirmation and/or comfort from time to time.

Our times are in God's hands. Therefore, we shall not fear...

To the members and friends of the Sturges Memorial Congregational Church of Port Huron, MI:

The events of this past week have been frightening and unsettling. In times such as these, we may be tempted to surrender to fear. But let us remember the inspiration of our Pilgrim Way and the larger Reformed Tradition as we celebrate our conviction that God is the Sovereign Ruler of the Universe!

May we also recall the mandate of our Lord and Master that we are to "love one another as I have loved you" (John 13:34) even as we seek to serve our fellow humans--who may or may not--be followers of Jesus. Let us strive to recognize the Divine spark in every other human being, even when they make poor decisions.

Let us pray for our beloved Republic and for wisdom in our leaders. Above all else, let us trust in the slow work of God in bringing about peace and justice in our time. It cannot be otherwise.
