Sin is not something that is harmful to another person. Sin is breaking Gods laws. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my Commandments. Love is not redefining sin or it’s consequences . Love is sharing there consequences and impending destruction. Hell is still Hot and Satan wants to drag you there.Jesus s the only way.
Pastor Kristian A. Smith just reframed the entire “homosexuality is a sin” debate from within the Christian tradition — and it’s striking a chord.
His argument is simple: Jesus taught that the greatest commandment is love. And at its core, love seeks not to cause harm. So if sin is ultimately about causing harm, and LGBTQ+ people are simply living their lives without harming anyone, then who is actually committing the sin?
“If they’re just trying to live their lives without harming anyone, and you, as a Christian, are condemning them and pushing them down, then you are the one causing harm. So you are the one living in sin.”
Smith says he rarely even uses the word “sin” anymore. Instead, he talks about harm. And that shift in perspective is causing many people to reconsider what it means to follow the teachings of Jesus.
