You prayed.
You trusted.
You hoped things would turn out differently.

And they didn’t.

This Sunday, we continue Understanding the Will of God with When Life Doesn’t Go According to Plan.

Looking at Jesus in Gethsemane, we’ll consider what it means to face circumstances we never would have chosen while continuing to trust God in the middle of them.

God does not have to cause our circumstances in order to meet us within them.
And when life doesn’t go according to plan, God is still presentβ€”and there is still a faithful next step.

Is everything that happens really God’s will?

It’s a question that becomes especially difficult when life brings suffering, disappointment or circumstances we never would have chosen.

This Sunday, we begin Understanding the Will of God with a question many of us have wrestled with: Did God Cause This?

Together, we’ll explore the difference between what God desires and what God permitsβ€”and what Scripture reveals about the character of God when we encounter suffering.

We may not always understand what is happening around us, but we can learn to know and trust the heart of the God who meets us there.

What a weekend!

From hayrides and pumpkins to balloon art, face tattoos, sweet treats, and so many smiling faces, Family Fun in the Patch was such a beautiful way to kick off another Pumpkin Patch season at Rosenberg First.

But the Pumpkin Patch has always been about more than pumpkins.
It’s about creating a place where neighbors become friends, families make memories, and our community knows there’s a place for them here.

To everyone who joined us, volunteered, supported our youth bake sale, or simply spent part of your weekend with usβ€”thank you for being part of it. 🀍

And we’re just getting started! πŸŽƒ The Pumpkin Patch is open through October 31, and we’d love to welcome you back.

There is a season for everything. πŸ‚

October has a way of making change impossible to miss. The weather begins to shift. The days feel different. The fields change. And our Corner Lot is filled once again with pumpkins. πŸŽƒ

But changing seasons can also be a beautiful reminder of something deeper: God is present in every season of our lives.

The seasons of growth.
The seasons of waiting.
The seasons of abundance.

And even the seasons we didn’t choose.

Whatever season you’re walking through right now, don’t walk through it without Him. Make room for Jesus. Come back to worship. Find community. Invite someone to come alongside you.

Maybe this new season is your invitation to take a new step in your faith. 🀍

A pastor’s ministry reaches far beyond the pulpit.

On Pastor Appreciation Day, we’re taking a moment to celebrate Pastor Wendy and the thoughtful, steady way she leads and serves Rosenberg First.

From meaningful sermon series and partnership classes to time with our youth, homebound visits, prayer, and countless opportunities to serve, she is deeply invested in helping our church family grow in faith and stay connected to one another.

Her ministry reaches beyond our congregation, too. Pastor Wendy serves on the board and helps develop curriculum for the Trinity Conference summer camp at Lakeview, faithfully participates in Annual Conference, and has twice been elected as a delegate to the GMC General Conference. Most recently, she represented the conference in South Africa, where she also served as recording secretaryβ€”an added responsibility that reflects the trust placed in her leadership.

And through all of it, she continues to make the people serving alongside her a priority. She encourages and equips our staff, gives us opportunities to grow, and makes sure we have the support and resources we need to serve our church well.

Pastor Wendy, thank you for the sermons, prayers, visits, encouragement, leadership, and countless acts of service most people never see. Your investment in this church and its people is a gift, and we are incredibly grateful for you. 🀍

One of our favorite Rosenberg First traditions begins THIS WEEKEND, and we have a full weekend of fall fun planned for our church and community!

πŸŽ‰ Family Fun in the Patch
πŸ“… Saturday, October 10 | 1–4pm

Come celebrate Opening Day with us and enjoy:

Admission and family activities are FREE, so grab the kids, invite another family, and come spend the afternoon with us! 🀍
