Hello friends!
Greetings from Los Angeles, CA and the operation of Catholic Polytechnic University. I am Sam Laganà, and recently President Nolan and the CPU Board appointed me as Chancellor, for which I feel very blessed.
This is my first foray into saying hello and telling you about some of the ways we are advancing Catholic Polytechnic for the good of our students and operations.
The winter/spring semester ended last week and summer session classes for undergraduate and graduate students are beginning soon. The online experience with wonderful professors is fairing well. The admissions and marketing team members are on task to align more students and continue the progress with the degrees in computer science at the intersection of faith. Dr. Nolan has faculty and staff energized as well as students.
Thank you for your generous gift(s) to Catholic Poly in the past. In my role, I will report to Dr. Nolan and coordinate advancement efforts and assist with guidance from my background in educational administration. We are gaining momentum every day.
One of trusted advisory board members introduced us to a wonderful concept for a golf fundraiser that will take place next month in Orange County. Please take the time to review the materials attached about the unique opportunity surrounding our upcoming Catholic Polytechnic University Golf-A-Thon on June 15 at Bella Collina Golf Club in San Clemente.
On that day, participants will each play up to 100 golf balls to benefit Catholic Polytechnic University. I’ll be playing as part of the Catholic Poly team, and I’d be grateful for your support through a pledge—anywhere from $5 to $500 per ball I play (with a maximum of 100 balls). Of course, you’re welcome to contribute at any level that feels right to you. All donations are tax-deductible and directly support our mission of providing a tuition debt-free education for our students. We would be honored to have you partner with Catholic Poly in what has proven to be a high-impact, low-effort fundraising initiative. More importantly, this event offers a tangible way to strengthen the vital work our University carries out each day—forming minds, shaping culture, and advancing a culture of life grounded in Faith, Hope, and Love.
This initiative is intentionally designed to generate meaningful financial support—without adding operational strain.
Here’s what makes this opportunity especially compelling:
* Completely turn-key — All planning, logistics, and ex*****on are handled. Your role is simply to support those playing on behalf of Catholic Poly.
* Zero financial risk — Every dollar you contribute goes directly to Catholic Poly; all event costs are covered separately by the event producers.
* 100% tax-deductible — Every contribution directly supports Catholic Polytechnic University.
* Minimal time commitment — No need to step away from work or family; you can make a meaningful impact simply by contributing and, if you choose, inviting others to do the same.
Our goal is simple: to create a focused, distraction-free pathway for our mission to grow—so that more resources can be directed toward protecting the most vulnerable and expanding our impact.
In the spirit of shared mission, we are partnering with the Fruitful Futures Project to help drive this effort. This collaboration enables us to sustain and expand this golf fundraising model, and cover a portion of the costs required to make this possible. If you’d like to join me on the course—I'd love that. Email, or text me, and I’ll share the details. I am traveling this week so if my response is delayed, please excuse me.
To pledge your support, simply email me at

with your per-ball commitment. I’ll follow up with instructions on how to complete your donation when I return from my personal travels, which includes a visit to some important places of worship in Florence and Rome like Castel Gondolfo above Vatican City.
Thank you for your consideration and support—it truly makes a difference.
With gratitude,
Sam Laganà
