Tomorrow’s the day everything comes together. 😅

Whether you come for the car wash and stay for lunch, or come for the lunch and stay for the car wash, we just hope you’ll come. 🙃

We always try to make our retreats special while keeping costs low for students. Any funds raised will go towards the trip and other fun activities throughout the summer.

And yes, I intend to have a very happy birthday AND week.
Lots of time spent with friends.
Maybe you can be one of them? Maybe I’ll share cake?

May 5th, come hang out with me while prepping snack bags and flowers at 9 (for those not in school or work), or spend time with my family at the JV baseball game that starts at 4:30.

May 6th, MS & HS come to Campus Life—it’s pizza week! And DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUTH GROUP!!! 🥰

May 7th, the GHS Drama club presents “Lend Me a Soprano” in the old Middle School Gym at 7 pm. (There are showings on Wednesday and Friday also, but I won’t be there. 😜 Also, it does cost money, and there is usually a raffle and refreshments to buy)

May 8th, double header softball and baseball starting at 3. Goooo WILDCATS! 💙💛

FR though, there’s lots of cake. I might bring some to a game or something if I can manage to get everything else in order early enough. 🍰

Bored yet?

As mentioned last week, for one night only, we are extending youth group by an hour. By that, I mean we are starting an hour early. Dinner will still be at six, and lesson will be at seven. No forced fun, just more time for playing outside and board games. See you soon!

March is madness in many ways. One of those ways is birthdays, both in my family and with youth group. 🥳

We have 4 youth leaders with birthdays this month, so just for fun, I’m going to add to the madness in this way: any student who beats one of those leaders in a game to 15 in ping pong this month gets a candy bar. 🍫

👉Youth leaders have the right to refuse to play. Individual students are only eligible to earn one candy bar through this challenge. There will be limited grace for cheaterfaces. Unstated restrictions may apply (don’t go looking for loopholes). Offer only valid at participating locations.👈

*I haven’t updated our birthday calendar in way too long and know that I am missing an exorbitant number of students. Sorry if you’re one of them.🫠😔

I have yet to be upset when waking up early to send off students with a little extra love.

Praying they will have a fun and safe trip, be respectful to all, and learn something new that’s exciting.

And for the rest of y’all: TONIGHT IS YOUTH GROUP! We can’t wait to see you 🥰 let us know asap if you need a ride.

Oh, and we’re also having pizza during Campus Life 🍕, so I’ll see you for lunch, too!

Here’s something else I love: seeing a donation drive for Safe Haven Maternity Home being done at the school.
I first learned about Safe Haven when I was a kid (it started the year I was born if you really want to know 😂), and have since had many opportunities to support in various ways.

Safe Haven helps women who are in a difficult position to not only survive, but thrive. This organization has helped nearly 900 individuals, giving them a safe space to learn and grow, and changing the trajectory of their lives. It has helped end cycles of abuse and homelessness, setting families up for success, and continuing to provide support for years to come.

Their needs would be overwhelming to an individual, but as a community? We can come together to support real life change.

Pictured: some opportunities the youth group has had to help fix up Safe Haven’s grounds. We have made a couple trips there to work on projects, and have raised money for them in the 2022 dessert auction that I got no good pictures of 😭😅

To whom it may concern: we are making a meal for GSD staff today, not Thursday. I’ve got some students planning to help out, but if anyone wants to join, it will add to the special touches we have time for. We will get started around 12:30, with food being delivered by 4.

There will still be a snack bag prep party tomorrow at 11:30 for those interested💙💛

Get your orders in tonight!

Newbies who come for the game can get a plate from Panda Express on us, regular students pay $5 for a plate. I will be leaving the church at 1:45 to pick up food for anyone wanting to come with, let us know asap.

Any students are welcome to join us and just eat other snacks. Let us know if you have questions.
