As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
Following Shaykh Junaid’s heartfelt letter to our community, we wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for the years he has dedicated to serving Suffolk Islamic Center and the greater Long Island Muslim community.
With grateful hearts, we say farewell to our beloved Shaykh Junaid as he concludes his time at Suffolk Islamic Center.
Throughout his time with us, Shaykh Junaid dedicated himself to serving our community with sincerity and compassion. Through his khutbahs, his involvement in our Maktab program, community events, and countless hours of one-on-one counseling, he guided, listened to and supported so many members of our community.
One of his lasting contributions was establishing Suffolk Islamic Center’s Umrah program. By the permission of Allah, he has led two Umrah trips, with one final trip departing, inshAllah on August 1st. He also served the greater Long Island Muslim community by collaborating with local organizations and helping bring respected scholars to Suffolk Islamic Center.
“And He brought their hearts together.” (Surah Al-Anfal 8:63)
We ask Allah ﷻ to accept every khutbah he delivered, every student he taught, every counseling session he held, and every effort he made for the sake of this community. May Allah place barakah in the next chapter of his journey and continue to make him a source of benefit wherever he goes.
JazakAllahu khayran, Shaykh Junaid. Your impact on Suffolk Islamic Center will not be forgotten, you will always have a home here. May Allah ﷻ bless you and your family, reward you abundantly for your service, place barakah in your next chapter and continue to make you a source of benefit wherever He takes you. Ameen.
