Prayer is the lifeblood of your Christian walk and we must realize we can’t be in a relationship with Christ without it. In most churches of our day, there is a common scene at the end of most services…. “the sinners prayer”. People are directed to say a few words in a prayer, they’re told they are “saved” and on their way to heaven. Is this how biblical conversion happens? Is this model creating true disciples of Christ? In these next few episodes, we’re going to examine what the Bible has to say about salvation and conversion. Valentine’s Day is coming up! We decided to do an episode on what the Bible has to say about marriage and love. There’s a lot of marriage advice floating around out there. Let’s be honest about it though, most of us have tried it and we find ourselves in the same place. Happy Monday everyone!!

We’ve had several questions about when we’re filming the next podcast. We’ll be filming part 2 this coming weekend and we’re going to discuss what the function of the Church gathering looked like in scripture. Remember the homework of reading 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 and 14 to see how it’s described in scripture. When you’re reading this, close your eyes and envision what the first century gathering looked and sounded like. Then ask yourself….are we doing it the same? Don’t think about the difference in technology and equipment as much as the style and organization of how it was done. Was there one central speaker talking all the time during these meetings….or were all partipating? Was it just teaching going on or were other gifts and fuctions happening too? These are the types of questions to ask as you read. After reading, you’ll be ready to be engaged in the conversation and know what it says yourself. Please do the reading so you’re not just taking our words for what it says but can see it for yourself. We are really looking forward to this next episode and we’re praying the Lord uses it to instruct and edify His Church.

This coming Sunday(5th), John Burns with Heart to Serve Missions will be at Kingdom Way Church to do a presentation on his oversees missions work. There are so many oversees missions organizations that it can be hard to sort through to know who to give to or support. We have the advantage here in the Greenbrier Valley of having a local person and organization that we can have personal contact with that is doing great work oversees fulfilling the great commission and bringing help to the poor and needy. If you are curious of his work, or are looking for an organization to contribute to (or maybe even interested is going on a trip yourself), then come to 10 AM service this Sunday to see his presentation. Attached is a link to his website to research the work they are doing. We’re excited to host him and support the work!
