“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 (ESV)

For our wedding, Mike and I made each other a recording to play at the ceremony during our vows.

In my recording to Mike, I quoted Psalm 16:11 as something I wanted for our life together and how he is one of the pleasures for me in God’s right hand.

But the verse is also a beaufiful and powerful reminder of several amazing things: we can’t manufacture real joy; God’s right hand contains pleasures (blessings); and God shows us how life is meant to be lived.
