The Lie: "My worth depends on what other people think of me."
People-pleasing can be a trap that quietly controls our lives. We spend our days trying to gain approval, avoid criticism, keep everyone happy, and prove our value.
Before long, other people's opinions begin to determine our decisions, our emotions, and even our identity.
But that's not God's design.
God's Word asks a powerful question: "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men?" — Galatians 1:10
Jesus also warned about those who "loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God." — John 12:43
The truth is, your value is not determined by how many people approve of you. Your value was settled at the cross.
You are God's workmanship, created intentionally and purposefully in Christ Jesus for good works that He prepared in advance for you. (Ephesians 2:10)
So today, stop measuring your worth by the opinions of people. Instead, ask yourself:
Am I living for the applause of people, or the approval of God?
When we work heartily for the Lord, we can rest knowing that "it is the Lord Christ whom you serve" and that from Him we "receive the reward of the inheritance." (Colossians 3:24)
✨ Truth to Remember: I don't need everyone's approval because I already have God's acceptance through Christ.
