🏈 WHAT IF YOU’RE NOT LOST… YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW YOUR PURPOSE? 💭

So many of us spend our lives asking other people:
💬 Am I good enough?
👀 Do I measure up?
❤️ Do they approve of me?
📱 Am I where I’m supposed to be?

But this Sunday, Pastor Jason is reminding us of something powerful:
✨ If you want to know the purpose of a thing, don’t ask the thing. Ask the One who created it.

And purpose isn’t always about some huge, life-changing assignment.

Sometimes it’s found in the little moments. 👣
🤝 Encouraging someone.
🙌 Meeting a need.
❤️ Being faithful where God has placed you.
🙏 Doing what God is asking you to do right now.

Because when you know your purpose…
🎯 Purpose diminishes distractions.
💪 Purpose pushes you through pain.

Just look at Nehemiah. When people tried to pull him away from the work God had given him, he essentially said:
“I am doing a great work and cannot come down.” 🧱

Maybe that’s the word someone needs this week.
🚫 Stop living for the approval of people.
🧱 Stop letting distractions pull you off the wall.
🌱 Stop overlooking the small things God is asking you to be faithful in.

You were created on purpose, for a purpose. ✨

Stinkin’ Thinkin’ Thursday

THE LIE:
“I need to have all the answers before I move forward.”

We can get stuck waiting for God to show us the whole plan.
- What if I make the wrong decision?
- What if this doesn't work out?
- What if I take a step and regret it?

I just need to know what's going to happen first.

But here's the problem:
God never promised to show us the whole road. He promised to walk it with us.

Proverbs 3:5–6 says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Notice the order.
- Trust.
- Don't lean on what you can figure out.
- Follow Him.
- Then let Him direct your path.

Faith isn't having all the answers Faith is trusting the One who does.

Maybe you're waiting for God to show you what's around the corner.

Maybe He's simply asking you to take the next step.

You don't have to know how everything will work out.

You don't have to see the whole path.

You just need to trust God enough to take the next step.

THE LIE:
“I need to have all the answers before I move forward.”

GOD'S TRUTH:
“I don't need the whole plan. I just need to trust God and take the next step.”

Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust Him. Take the step. Let God handle the rest.

Hey StudentLIFE Parents! ❤️🖤

Just a reminder that this Wednesday, September 2, we’re having a StudentLIFE Game Night! 🎉

We’re taking a break from our normal teaching time and giving the students a night to simply hang out, have fun, eat, and build relationships with one another.

We’ll have hamburgers and hotdogs 🌭🍔, basketball 🏀, football 🏈, card games 🃏, and plenty of other games and fun!

There will be no lesson or teaching this Wednesday night — just a fun night for our students to relax, connect, and enjoy being together.

Are you living life with intention, or just letting the days slip by? 🏈🕰️

We’ve been exploring some powerful "Lessons from the Sidelines" lately, and this week we dove into the crucial topic of Priorities. Life moves fast, and if we aren't careful, we can spend our limited time on things that don't truly matter.

In Ephesians 5:15-17, Paul challenges us to be wise and make the best use of our time because the days are evil. It’s not just about being busy—it’s about being purposeful.

When you're faced with an opportunity or an obstacle, try using this simple, God-centered grid:
1️⃣ Is it wise? (Am I seeing this from God’s perspective?)
2️⃣ Is it best? (Am I giving my best, or just settling for "good"?)

We only have a certain number of "yeses" in our pockets—make sure you're spending them on what God has called you to do. Let's stop trying to please everyone and start living for an audience of One.

📣 THIS SUNDAY | PRIORITIES

You have 24 hours today. You don't get any of them back.

We all have things competing for our time—work, family, friends, sports, social media, entertainment, church, rest, and a hundred other things.

But here's the uncomfortable question:
Are we spending our time on what matters most?

This Sunday in Lessons From the Sidelines, we're talking about PRIORITIES and learning to see our time differently.
- Because you can't save time.
- You can't store it for later.
- You can't get yesterday back.
- You can only choose how you spend it today.

And here's one priority we can't afford to push to the bottom of the list:

Making time to gather with God's people, worship together, and be fed by His Word.
Corporate worship isn't just another thing competing for space on our calendar. It's an opportunity to reset our hearts, hear from God, worship alongside His people, and be strengthened for the week ahead.

Ephesians 5 challenges us to “make the best use of the time” and to understand what the Lord wants for our lives.

So before you fill another day with things that feel urgent, maybe it's time to ask:
Is this what God wants me to give my time to?

⏰ Your time is your life. Make sure you're spending some of it on what feeds your soul.

STINKIN’ THINKIN’ THURSDAY

The Lie:

“I should be further along by now.”
- Maybe you thought you'd be married by now.
- Further along in your career.
- More financially secure.
- Further along spiritually.
- Maybe you thought you'd have life figured out by this point.

And when life doesn't look the way we thought it would, it's easy to start believing that we've fallen behind or somehow missed what God had for us.

But here's the truth:

Your timeline isn't God's timeline. And your past doesn't cancel God's purpose for your future.

God says in Isaiah 43:18–19:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”

Notice that God says “See.”

He's inviting us to stop staring at what didn't happen and start looking for what He is doing now.

Maybe you're not where you thought you'd be. That's okay. God isn't finished with you yet.

- You don't have to make up for lost time.
- You don't have to compare your journey to someone else's.
- You don't have to figure out the rest of your life today.

Look for what God is doing. Trust His timing. And take the next step.

This week, we’re putting on **THE SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE.**

But these shoes aren’t just about finding peace when life gets crazy.

They’re about being **READY.**

Ready to stand firm when life gets shaky.
Ready to walk differently when pressure comes.
And most importantly—**ready to share the gospel of Jesus with the people around us.**

Because Jesus has made peace between us and God, we don’t have to live controlled by fear, anxiety, conflict, or what other people think. We can stand in His peace—and then **carry that peace into the world.**

📖 **This Wednesday we’ll be going over Ephesians 6:15.**
