What we learned last night:
Have you ever been texting someone, and all of a sudden they stop responding, but “left you on read”? You can see they read the message, but just didn’t respond. The ultimate insult: “You’re not worth of my time”. Do you ever feel like you’re “left on read” with the Lord?

John 10:27 tells us how often he communicates with us. The problem is never with our Shepherd. He never stops leading and never stops speaking. It’s a signal problem not a speaking problem. The reality is that it’s our poor reception that keeps us from receiving a message that had already been sent to us! God is always speaking and sending us messages, but we’re not always in range of good signal. Maybe it’s poor choices, laziness, or fill in the blank… but some of us have removed ourselves from being in proximity of God’s voice. Scripture says his sheep KNOW his voice.

If you’re in a place with bad reception, what do you do? Move immediately. If you were separated from your signal, you would resolve it as fast as you possibly could. If you are separated from your spiritual signal, are you moving fast to take action? Are you getting back in the word? Walking away from bad influences? Etc. What is keeping your signal stuck in bad reception? Where do you need to move to tune back into God? Make steps towards being closer to God so that you can hear what he has to say. When our signal is really bad, often times we just restart our phone hoping it will work. Sometimes it even does! Do you need a restart to boost our signal and tune into God more.

Questions to think on:
1. Have you ever felt like God has not been very present? Describe that time.
2. How is your spiritual signal? Are you tuned in, have weak signal, or no service?
3. Where do you need to move to tune back into God?
4. What is one thing you can do this week to know God’s voice more intimately?

New teaching series starts tomorrow!

Students know what it feels like to be left on read, — that gut-punch when someone ghosts you because you're not worth their time. It’s been the centerpiece of hurt feelings and ended friendships. This series flips the script and helps students discover how they might be leaving God on read through distraction, busyness, and choosing good things over God things. Students will learn practical ways to tune into God's voice so they can keep their connection with God by activating their faith and prioritizing what actually matters instead of just scrolling past another devotional. Staying connected to God when everything else is screaming for attention is a real struggle!

What we learned last night:

The new era that God is initiating does not end here. In fact, there’s an even more glorious season of life that God is building for us, an eternity with Him in heaven. When we live with heaven in mind, it changes how we live our day-to-day lives here on earth!

Isaiah 65:17 reveals that God’s great new heaven and earth will be so good that we won’t even think about the old ones anymore!

Paul explains in Philippians 3:20-21 God’s design for His children was never for this world, it was always meant to be with Him in Heaven. It’s very easy to get distracted by building a home on earth and forget that we are actually foreigners here, our citizenship is in Heaven! How might your life look different if you lived like this world was not truly your home? What would be less important? What would be more important? God is building us a new home. Knowing this truth for the new future He has for us should change the way we think and behave today. Live with a heavenly perspective and see how it changes the way you live each day for God.

In Colossians 3:1-4 Paul teaches that the moment we accepted Jesus as our savior, we died to this life, and our future home was solidified in Christ to live in Heaven for eternity with the Lord. Verse 1 gives us a challenging thought to help protect a heavenly perspective, “set your mind on things above!” Are you actively setting your mind on the things of Heaven? Do you filter your reality through the perspective of a citizen of heaven, someone who’s not living for this world, but for their future home? What are the things of heaven that deserve my attention? What does God care about and want me to focus on while I steward the life I am living here on the earth? Set your mind on things above. Live with this mentality and watch Him work in your life!

Questions to think on:
1. Why is it hard for us to think eternally? How do you personally forget that?
2. Why is it important to know and believe that God is building us a new home?
3. How does setting your mind on things above change your actions today?
4. How can you practically set your mind on things above this week?
