Depois da impressionante recepção em Madri, Barcelona não decepcionou!

No Estádio Olímpico “Lluís Companys”, o Sucessor de Pedro manteve um encontro com uma expressão significativa desta Igreja particular. Barcelona é uma cidade cosmopolita, de grande importância cultural, comercial, financeira e turística, uma das mais visitadas da Europa, quer por turistas que querem conhecer a capital catalã, quer por aqueles que participam de congressos, reuniões e exposições que nela se realizam.

Após as palavras boas-vindas do arcebispo anfitrião, o cardeal Juan José Omella Omella, e a entronização da Cruz, houve um intenso momento de diálogo do Pontífice com os jovens, no qual respondeu a algumas perguntas que lhe foram dirigidas. Após a proclamação do Evangelho, o Papa fez sua reflexão aos presentes, partindo do texto evangélico proposto.

E ressaltou que também nós somos como Nicodemos, peregrinos na noite. Esta imagem evangélica, frisou ele, oferece-nos, acima de tudo, uma mensagem sobre o caminho da vida. O nosso caminhar, os nossos desejos e tudo aquilo que abraçamos e vivemos no dia a dia, nas alegrias e nas derrotas, nas aspirações e nos projetos, é a expressão da nossa busca contínua: somos mendigos de amor, temos fome e sede de verdade, procuramos um sentido pleno que nos sustente, nos anime e nos ajude a compreender o mistério da nossa vida.

SUNDAY NIGHT PRAYER — LAST NIGHT OF MAY (END OF MONTH)

Heavenly Father,

As I come before You on this final night of May, I do so with gratitude, reflection, and surrender. Thank You for the gift of life throughout this month—for the days I saw light and the nights I walked through silence, for the moments of joy and the seasons of struggle.

Lord, I acknowledge that You have been with me in every step. Even when I did not understand Your ways, You were faithful. Even when I felt weak, You sustained me. Even when I was uncertain, You carried me forward.

Tonight, I lay this entire month before You:

every joy I experienced,
every burden I carried,
every unanswered prayer,
every mistake I made,
every tear I shed,
and every victory You allowed me to see.

Lord, I surrender it all into Your hands.

Cleanse my heart from anything that does not please You. Wash away every bitterness, fear, regret, and anxiety that may have accumulated in me this month. Let me not carry emotional or spiritual heaviness into the new month.

I thank You for protection I did not see, for provision I did not expect, and for grace I did not deserve. You have been my helper, my refuge, and my strength.

Lord Jesus, as I close this month, I ask You to heal what is broken in me. Restore what has been lost. Strengthen what has been weak. And prepare me for what lies ahead.

I place my family, my work, my health, my plans, and my future into Your loving hands. Cover us with Your precious blood. Let no harm, accident, or evil come near us as we transition into a new month.

Father, I declare that I will not enter the new month in fear or defeat. I will enter it with faith, hope, and expectation of Your goodness.

Let the new month bring:

peace where there was confusion,
healing where there was pain,
open doors where there were delays,
favor where there was struggle,
and joy where there was sorrow.

To accompany his constant calls for peace in the world, Pope Leo XIV will lead the prayer of the Holy Rosary on May 30 at 7:00 PM Rome time from the Vatican Gardens.

He will lead the faithful in Shrines around the world in praying the Joyful Mysteries, with each decade being dedicated specifically for those affected by war and violence and entrusting them to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace.

The first mystery prays for the victims of war, especially the most vulnerable, while the second is for those who bring words of hope and the comfort of faith to populations affected by war. The third recalls the medical and paramedical personnel and volunteers who bring humanitarian aid every day.

The fourth mystery prays for those who suffer the violence of war, for prisoners and for all who endure humiliations that violate human dignity. The fifth and final Joyful Mystery is dedicated to praying for an end to war and the establishment of lasting peace in the world.

Accompanying his repeated calls for an end to war, Pope Leo XIV will preside over the recitation of the Holy Rosary on May 30 in the Vatican Gardens, ...

Gospel of the Day (John 17,20-26)

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: "I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you, but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
I made known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them."
