A HUGE thank you to all of our members for the overwhelming (and tear-jerking) quantity of donations for the Care Cases - Almsgiving Event.
Also, THANK YOU to those who helped:
- set up all the items
- clean up afterwards
- brought in a soup or salad or cookies (an army works best when fed well!)
- and especially to those from the community who joined us! It was beyond heart-warming to have you there. ❤️

109 bags were packed!
I believe that is a record!
St. John's has been doing this every year since March of 2018.

👉PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR: Sunday, March 14, 2027 at 11:15am we'll be doing this again!

In the pics..... we went from 'this' (the tables filled with so many items to be packed) to 'that': 61 single bags + 43 double bags = 104 total!

Thank you to all who helped with donations, packing the bags, making soup, bringing treats & coffee, set up and clean up.
God be praised!!!!!!
This is so incredible! Talk about an army that God has brought together on behalf of these kids!

UPDATE: Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social (Honor America Days event) has been rescheduled for Wed, Aug 21, 2024 from 6-8pm at St. John's Lutheran Church, 502 W Chestnut St.

St. John’s Lutheran Ice Cream Social will also be rescheduled. Honor America Days parade, symphony & fireworks is Sat, Sept 7.
The ice cream social is typically the following Tuesday…. That date is not official yet.
An event will be created once the date is determined.

2023 Care Cases - Almsgiving event was outstanding!
We packed 64 single bags and 8 double bags!!
WOW! All thanks be to God!

💜💜While shopping yesterday for items, we filled up one shopping cart and asked the cashier if we could leave the cart near her while we filled up a 2nd cart. The lady who was checking out at the time heard that we were shopping for the foster kids and found us in the back of the store to give us $20 "to help the kids." 💜

💜💜Then today, while packing the bags after church, a couple walked in and had purchased 10 of everything needed to fill 10 bags! It was the woman's birthday and this is what she wanted to do for her special day! (They learned of what we were doing today via FB.) 💜
