April 11: Hope for Tomorrow.
“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten, the great locust and the young locust, the other locust and the locust swarm, my great army that I sent among you. “ Joel 2:25.

In our broken world, we suffer loss.
We experience the painful consequences of our actions. Disease and disasters take our loved ones too soon. Treasured possession are damaged, lost, and stolen. We're insulted for trusting God's Word.
Fear and frustration threaten our peace every day.

God knows what you endure in this life.
He knows all you're forced to give up or leave behind. Be comforted knowing he'll restore what you've lost.
In his perfect timing, whether now or in eternity to come, he'll bless you with more than you ever had before.

Do you feel like everyone's against you?
Look forward to an outpouring of God's mercy.
Do you feel discouraged and depressed?
Have hope since joy will come in the morning. (Psalms 30:5)

Have you given grace to your enemy even in the pain? God will overwhelm you with even more.
”A good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap.” Luke 6:38.

Trust him to give back more than was ever lost in the end.

Prayer: Lord, you see our grieving. Give us faith to trust in your love that holds so much in store. Amen.

April 10: Leaning and Learning.
“Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe. “ Proverbs 28:26.

We take pride in standing on our own two feet.
We want to pay our own way and solve our own problems. Asking for help or advice feels embarrassing. We think we're weak or failing if we can't handle every situation by ourselves.

You can't fool God by your attempts at independence. He knows your limitations.
He's aware of how hard your lives can be.
He allows you to struggle under the weight of trouble so you learn to lean on Him.

Take a look at your challenges today.
Are you trying to get through them alone?
Are you stuck, unable to move forward as you keep your issues to yourself?

Seek God in prayer and study His word for insight.
Call out to Him for help.
Reach out to mature, experienced believers for wisdom.
Invite the Lord into your situation and trust Him to provide all you need.

Prayer. Lord, we can't solve our problems on our own. Only You can fully supply our needs. Give us Your wisdom and help as our loving Father.
Teach us to trust You in every situation. Amen.

April 9:The Model of Marriage.
“Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. “ Philippians 3.17.

No matter how long you've been married, your love can teach a lesson to everyone.
The truth of the word is shown in your wise conversations.

Your hospitality and giving show God's generosity.
Your unity reflects the oneness of Christ and the church. Your affection and self-sacrifice display the heart of Jesus. Your trust in God to provide challenges others to believe his promises. Faithfulness and sexual purity reveal God's holiness to all who know you.

Be encouraged, knowing your marriage is a ministry to others today.
Pray for your relationship to shine the light of Christ. Ask him to make you an example of obedience for others to follow.
Seek him for wisdom to know which way to go.
Depend on him for greater love and grace toward each other every day.
Trust him to use you to lead others to saving faith in Jesus.

Prayer: Lord, let our marriage please you in every way. Use our love to reveal your truth and goodness to everyone. Amen.

April 8: Risky Relationships.
“Do not be misled. Bad company corrupts good character. “1 Corinthians 15:33.

With the best of intentions, we can fall in with those who reject Christ and the Word.
We hope to share our faith and the truth of the gospel,. To demonstrate love through friendship and help.
To encourage godly choices,
To spare them painful consequences of their sin.
However, by trying to lift others up, we can become dragged down ourselves.

Who are your closest friends and partners today?
Are they fellow believers, encouraging you to follow Christ wholeheartedly?
Do they dismiss, criticize, or show hostility to your faith?
Examine your relationships to see if they benefit or hinder your walk with God.

Ask for wisdom by the Spirit to recognize others' influence on your character.
Let him guide you in caring for others without risking your faith.
Pursue godly relationships that build you up to obey without compromise.
Ask the Lord to guard your heart as you love others in His name.

Prayer: Lord, we need believers in Christ to encourage us in following You. Give us wisdom to guard our hearts in every relationship. Let us abide in You as we shine Your light in the world. Amen.

April 7: Love Soeaks.
“Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.” Proverbs 27.6.

Sometimes the truth hurts!
It's hard to hear we're made a mistake.
Our tempers can rise when our opinions or decisions are challenged. We don't like to be told our attitude needs adjustment. We can feel attacked or hurt when a friend or loved one draws attention to our sin.

Constructive criticism is a gift, however, when it opens your eyes to your weakness.The pain of correction is better than the destruction of sin.
You're given a chance to change and grow.
You're set free to make amends and begin again.
An enemy is glad to leave you in the mess you're making. Their flattery betrays your need for the truth. There's no kindness in remaining silent as you become entangled in wrong choices.

Show true friendship in your marriage today by speaking the truth in love. Lean on one another for valuable insight. Encourage each other to submit to God in everything, knowing true joy and peace are found in him.

Prayer: Lord, give us courage to hold each other accountable for our actions. Help us receive the truth with humility and love. Bless our marriage as we seek to obey you in everything. Amen.

April 6, Lasting Love.
“It, [love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. “
1 Corinthians 13, 7-8.

Nothing damages your heart like the betrayal of a friend or a loved one. Marriage is designed to be a safe haven in this world, free of gossip, slander, and abuse. Our vows promise a lifetime of love without giving up or walking out.

Are you living in the hope of your love today?
Protect each other's feelings with gentleness and respect. Guard each other's security with mindful use of your time and money.
Stand up for each other with critical in-laws or disrespectful children.

Create an atmosphere of trust.
Be ready to account for where you go, who you see, and what you're watching. Keep your promises and live in integrity all the time.

Have high hopes for each other.
Expect the best and show grace for the worst. Trust in God to work out your weaknesses and make you like Christ. Support each other's goals and dreams as their strongest cheerleader.

Never give up.
Banish the word divorce from your vocabulary.
Do whatever it takes to overcome your differences and live as one.

God's love never changes.
When we commit to our marriage through thick and thin, His love shines in our home.

Prayer: Lord, turn our hearts to each other. Give us strength to keep our vows no matter what. Let us love as you love us. Amen.

April 5th, The Gift or The Giver.
“When I fed them, they were satisfied. When they were satisfied, they became proud. Then they forgot me.”Hosea 13:6.

You've known God's generosity.
He's met all your needs “according to the riches of his holy in Christ Jesus. “ Philippians 4:19.
He has kept his promise and take care of you since he “knows what you need before you ask him. “ Matthew 6:8.

He's proved he is “able to bless you abundantly so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. “ 2 Corinthians 9:8.

He's given protection, friendship, food and clothes, friends and family, home and jobs.
There are too many blessings to count.

When we're comfortable and satisfied, we can forget the One that provided all.
We give credit to our abilities and hard work.
We praise our own good sense and planning.
We think we're self-sufficient and deserving of even more.

Instead, choose to be grateful.
Pray and thank God for all you have.
Recognize him as your source of strength.
Be content, knowing he's given exactly what you need for today.
Rely on him for your daily bread.
Never forget the Father who loves and cares for you.

Prayer: Lord, we want to remember you as our provider each day. Thank you for every single blessing you've given. Amen.
