My friend and fellow Ambassador for Christ, Stanley Sroka Jr., was promoted to glory a few hours ago. Stan had lived in upper Wisconsin for a number of years, but those who were a part of the early days of Shorewood and Grace School of the Bible will remember him and his zeal for the gospel of grace. His son, Cameron, was grateful to be at his bedside the last few days. Do pray for him and Stan's wife as they adjust to his absence--and rejoice in the hope of glory we have in our wonderful Savior.

This weekend (Friday and Saturday) we will have memorial services for my friend, brother in Christ, and fellow laborer in the gospel of grace, Lou Castiello. Anyone familiar with our ministry at Shorewood for the past four decades will be familiar with Lou. He unexpectedly went to be with the Lord while on vacation with his family. Although Lou was a successful businessman, his most memorable quality was his love for his Lord and his family. Mary and "the girls" were the joy of his life--they transformed his life, just as he did theirs. I (and many others) was along for that journey, and will ever be grateful for that ride. Do remember Mary, Sarah, Rachel and Rebecca as they adjust to the "empty seat" at their family table. Together, we rejoice in "the hope of glory" that is ours through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Two things: we had an outstanding conference in Ridge Farm this weekend. The church building was filled, with almost half of the crowd being young people! It's wonderful to see the commitment of these young saints to the message of grace!

Then, on our drive home, we got the tragic word that our long-time friend and ministry partner, Lou Castiello, had an unexpected heart attack Saturday afternoon and went to be with the Lord. While his sudden departure is heartbreaking, we rejoice that his "hope of glory" is now a reality. Do pray for Mary, their girls and families.

A few pictures from our Family Bible Conference, which ended two weeks ago. These young people are getting an awesome start in their spiritual lives by not only having a clear understanding of the gospel of grace and word rightly divided but also by making memories/friends that will ground their futures. It is, for me, a humbling privilege to work with so many saints who make these times a reality--many of whom actually grew up in these very meetings.

Summer fun and edification begin this Saturday! Twenty-six preachers from across the country to teach the word, Bible classes for children and teens, along with happenings and family activities will make for a week of spiritual growth and enriching fellowship. Bible conferences like this are times of growth and genuine refreshing. If you are unable to join us in person, all the teaching sessions will be live on the shorewoodbiblechurch.org website.

Our oldest granddaughter got engaged this week. We will soon be adding another "Ricky" to our family--to make a total of four! Congratulations to you sweetheart and the fella who has your heart! We pray your lives together will are filled with all the blessings of lives lived for our Savior's glory.

Alex is teaching a class on sharing the gospel clearly and effectively--we have an upcoming evangelistic outreach the end of the month. I'll be teaching at 10:45 a.m. on Romans 1:10-13, the topic "Decision Making and the Will of God." What is God's will for my life and exactly how can I know I am fulfilling it? Does God really have a "detailed life-plan uniquely designed for me"? How do I discover it? How can I be sure I'm in "the center of His will" for me? These are questions believers struggle with. Paul's example provides the answers to doing God's will in the details of our lives. The message of grace in the book of Romans liberates us from the tyranny of trying to make God love us, into the liberty that is our present reality in Christ Jesus! 55.years ago today we said, "I do!" Three sons (and daughter-in-laws), nine grandkids, a life time of ministry and we ain't through yet. I thank God every day for the privilege of walking hand-in-hand through life with her!
