If you read the Gospel narrative of the birth of Jesus, you can’t help but see joy expressed at every turn.

Rejoicing over new life given, promises kept, good news proclaimed. No wonder that joy and rejoicing find their way into so many of the Christmas songs we know and love!

Join us in joyful worship this week as we continue our Advent journey towards Christmas. Find out more at www.meadowsfamily.org

This week, as we observe the second Sunday of Advent, we will light another candle on the Advent wreath. This candle represents FAITH. This theme of faith is seen so clearly in the reaction of Mary to the news that she would bear a child, the Son of the Most High and long-awaited Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Has anyone received more incredible news than this? And yet her response is one of humble submission to God’s plan. Considering the spectrum of human emotions and confused thoughts that must have been swirling inside this young Jewish girl, her response is one of genuine faith: “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38)

May we enter into worship together this week with the same sense of trust in God and in his Word. Will you join us? Find out more at our website, www.meadowsfamily.org

The word “Advent” means “arrival, appearance, approach, coming.” As Christians, we observe this time of year to prepare to celebrate the first “advent” of Jesus Christ when he was born as a baby in Bethlehem. Along with this, we also look forward to Christ’s triumphant second “advent” when he comes to make all things new! This is the hope that we have, and it is why the theme of our first Advent Sunday is HOPE. Join us as we begin the Advent journey to Christmas through worship this Sunday. This Sunday we are excited to have our combined Thanksgiving worship service with our sister Chinese congregation, NWSCCC! And there couldn’t be a more perfect way to begin our worship together than with Psalm 100. In this Psalm there is a call to joy, to singing, to gladness… and above all, to thanksgiving to the Lord for who he is and all he has done for us.

We haven’t had a combined service like this in many years and we are looking forward to giving thanks to the Lord together - two congregations, two languages… one body of Christ! You won’t want to miss this Sunday, with our worship service followed by classes for all ages and capped off with a combined lunch for all at noon. Find out more at www.meadowsfamily.org

Jesus invites all of us to COME TO HIM. He calls us (loudly!) to come to him in faith and to accept what he has to offer - a forgiven, transformed, Spirit-filled life that is never-ending and overflowing with the work of his Spirit within us.

Join us this week as we come to Christ in our worship together, seeking not only for our spiritual thirst to be satisfied in him but to let the abundance of the Holy Spirit fuel our worship and our ministry to one another. Find out more at www.meadowsfamily.org

Are you tired? Feeling weighed down by life? Exhausted? Then these words of Jesus are for you.

He invites us to come to him, to lay down the burdens that the world has placed on us, and the burdens we have taken upon ourselves. Instead, we take up his yoke - we become connected to him as we walk alongside him through life, Christ gently taking the lead, guiding us every step of the way.

Come to Jesus. He provides rest for our weary souls.

This week, as we do every Sunday, we answer the call to come to Jesus in our worship together. Find out more at www.meadowsfamily.org

When you do a search for word “faithful” you’ll find there are many definitions to choose from:

steadfast in affection or allegiance
firm in adherence to promises
true to one's word
reliable and consistent
having lasting loyalty and trustworthiness in relationships

All of these definitions help to paint a complete picture of faithfulness. They also describe the faithful character of our God. God is true to his word. He keeps his promises. He is a constant companion who will never leave us or forsake us. This is our God - he is faithful.

Psalm 117 calls us into worship of our faithful God, exhorting us to give him praise for exactly this reason. “For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever!”

Join us this week as we experience and celebrate the faithfulness of God together in our worship. Find out more at our website www.meadowsfamily.org
