Following our announcement last week of the passing of Rev. James Walters, we want to share the funeral and memorial service information.

James was serving as pastor of Avon Methodist Church and Glen Allan Methodist Church in the Delta South District at the time of his death. He also served as registrar for the Board of Ministry of the Mississippi-West Tennessee Conference of the Global Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 25 at 2:00 PM at Avon Methodist Church, 4123 Mississippi Hwy 1, Hollandale, MS 38748.
This service will be held at one of the churches that James loved and served, and friends, family, fellow clergy, and others from across our conference are invited to join together in worship and celebrate his life.

A James Walters Memorial Clergy Education Scholarship has also been established to support Mississippi and West Tennessee seminary students attending a GMC-approved seminary.

Please continue to cover Rev. Walters' family and friends, as well as the Avon and Glen Allan church families, in prayer during this difficult time.

We had a great church gathering at the Nolans’ lake house! Chuck and the men fried the catfish, the ladies provided all the delicious extras, and the children had a ball fishing, playing, and taking a swing at the piΓ±ata. So thankful for the fun memories we made and for our wonderful church family! β€οΈπŸŸπŸ™πŸ»
