Scene at Rising Star: Final Sabbath, Baptism, Community Prayer & Ordination

We had a wonderful time in the Lord on this past weekend! We sadly bid farewell to our pastoral family, Pastor Shannon and First Lady Ashley Crawford. Although we will miss them, we bid them God’s blessings as they move onward to their new assignment. We also welcomed another person to the body of Christ through baptism! Finally, we ended the day with our community prayer and ordaining one of our own to spiritual leadership! A special thank you to Pastor Clarence Norman and his lovely wife, Sis. Norman for presiding over our ordination service. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a wonderful weekend!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

We are excited and look forward to seeing you at the 2026 South Central Conference Camp Meeting, celebrating our “80th Anniversary: The Family Reunion.” This special gathering will begin on Wednesday evening, June 17. There will be dynamic programming, concerts, prayer services, workshops, and seminars for all age groups—children, youth, young adults, adults, and seniors.

We’reeeeeeeeee backkkkkk! And we have another event for the kids! Join us this Saturday, March 21st from 11:45am to 1:30pm for “Destination: Faith & Fun!” where we provide a place for kids to come do something fun, constructive, and God-centered for the afternoon! The theme is “Faith and Feelings!” How do we feel about God? And do we know how He feels about us? For ages five - sixteen! Completely free! Max is 20 kids. We hope to see you then!🙏🏽🙏🏽

We praise God for an awesome Community Black History Program at Rising Star where our theme was “Remembering the Past. Honoring the Present. Glorifying God!” We also recognized members and community leaders who have been faithful in our church and community! We thank all of our honorees for your service and dedication! Thank you so much to Pastor Dimitri Scavella, who blessed us with the program homily that reminded us to always remember the way God has led us!🙌🏽🙌🏽
