Looking for a meaningful part-time opportunity? Valle Lutheran Church is currently searching for a church secretary to assist a few hours each week with preparing church bulletins for Valle and Peace, as well as helping with a few general secretarial duties. Happy Easter! Christ is risen! Alleluia!

"They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here but has risen'" (Luke 24:2-5).

Today is Good Friday.

With solemn hearts, we remember the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross. "When Jesus had received the wine, he said, 'It is finished!' Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit" (John 19:30).

On Maundy Thursday, we remember Christ's last meal with his disciples, but the central focus is his commandment that we love one another as he loves us.

"The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.'

In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me! For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes" (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

Today is Palm Sunday and Sunday of the Passion. “Now as [Jesus] was approaching the path down from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the deeds of power that they had seen, saying, ‘Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!’’ (Luke 19:37-38).
