MARIE CAPPS CUNNINGHAM:
Please continue to remember my cousin, Monica (Capps) Price, in your prayers. Thank you to everyone who has praying for her.
As many of you know, and many do not, Monica was taken off life support and the ventilator yesterday morning. John and I spent the day at the hospital, staying from the early morning hours into late afternoon.
During that time, we were deeply humbled by the outpouring of love surrounding Monica, Kim, Pressley, Chey, and the family. We met people we had never known who came simply to support Kim and Chey and that love Monica. Kim shared about the faithfulness of close friends who had walked alongside Monica in the days leading up to this moment. We saw Chey's friends and their parents showing up with love and support. It was a beautiful reminder of how many lives Monica has touched.
Monica is now receiving hospice care. Please continue to pray for her body. Pray for Kim and Chey as they navigate each moment ahead. Pray for the nurses, caregivers, family, and friends who are surrounding them with comfort and care. Pray for strength when they feel weak, peace when emotions become overwhelming, and comfort in times of heartache.
Monica is a matriarch in the family in so many ways. She is deeply loved by so many. We are still in a state of disbelief that this is where she is, and yet we are grateful for every prayer, every visit, every message, and every act of kindness.
For those who know and love Monica as a friend, family member, and sister in Christ, we pray comfort and peace for you as well.
