Rogersville Christian Church - The Place of Grace

Rogersville Christian Church - The Place of Grace Pastor Jimmy Jarvis was raised both in Rogersville and Wind Ridge. He graduated from West Greene High School in 1973. That church is known as The Place of Grace.

Pastor Jimmy was saved August 11, 1983 at 9:10 P.M. at the Enon Baptist Church with the Evangelist Stan Scott ministering. Pastor Jimmy was soon feeling the call into the ministry. He began traveling the three state area testifying, singing, and ministering the gospel. The Lord led Pastor Jimmy to regularly attend the Crabapple Community Church, where he was later asked to be the associate pastor

under Pastor Frank Crow. Pastor Jimmy held that position for many years until the passing of Pastor Crow. Jimmy was asked to become the pastor and held that position for many more years. The Lord led both Pastor Jimmy and the late Jeanie Jarvis, his beloved wife of 36 years, to begin their own praise and worship church. In the month of April, 2005 the Place of Grace Church was birthed. Starting very humbly in the Ryerson Grange Hall, where they soon outgrew that building, they moved to the Harvey Grange in Graysville, where they held services for several years. After much hard work, sweat, and tears of the congregation to clean and remodel, they moved into a beautiful old church building in Bluff, PA. Pastor Jimmy again held services there for several years. In late September of 2004, the Lord spoke to Pastor Jimmy that he wanted him to pastor at the Rogersville Christian Church. It was six years in the making, but God readied the hearts of all involved in the moving into the vision that was promised by God, thus becoming known as The Rogersville Christian Church, The Place of Grace. The first service was held on October 17, 2010 and Pastor Jimmy has been holding services on Sunday there ever since. Pastor Jimmy describes his very faithful congregation as being a “mild Pentecostal” who are very willing to allow the Spirit of God move in their services. Pastor Jimmy has recently retired from truck driving in March of 2019. He is now able to be doing God’s work full-time. Pastor Jimmy invites anyone who is looking for a church where they can feel they are a part of a family to come because “That’s what we are here at The Place of Grace; a family”. God bless.
