Daniel praised God before he had proof that everything would work out.

He hadn't spoken to the king. He hadn't confirmed the dream. Nothing had changed yet. And still, he thanked God.

That's what faith looks like. Not waiting until the trial is over, but trusting that God is already at work while you're still walking through it.

When the storms of life come, do you cry out to Jesus? Or do fear and doubt begin to take over?

There will always be storms in this life. The wind will blow. The waves will rise. But the moment Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink.

When life feels overwhelming and the waters get deep, don’t fix your eyes on the storm... cry out to Jesus. He is still the One who saves.

Chapter 14 of Matthew has taught us a lot about faith and fear. On Sunday we read about Jesus walking on the water. He purposely takes himself away from the disciples and allows them to struggle in the storm. Jesus wants the disciples to grow in their faith but they are not doing it alone. Jesus sees them and is praying for them! And guess what- their faith grows!

Jesus wants the same for us today! When we are in the midst of the storm we can remember Jesus’ faithfulness and know that He is still in control. We can trust that He is interceding for us and we will make it to the other side.

Let’s be bold enough to walk in faith and not be stuck in fear. Jesus is with us each step of the way.

“I do not believe there ever existed a Christian yet, who did not now and then doubt his interest in Jesus. I think, when a man says, “I never doubt it,” it is quite time for us to doubt him.”
—Charles Spurgeon

Jesus is not mad when we doubt and fear, but He also loves us enough to not let us live there. He gives us opportunities to walk out our faith day by day, and little by little, it grows to teach us to truly trust Him! Look at all His past faithfulness in your life, and be encouraged. Cry out to Him with your doubts and fears. He can be trusted!

Our circumstances shouldn’t determine how close we are to God.

Whether life is going well or falling apart, we should be drawing nearer to Him in every season.

Daniel’s faith wasn’t built on circumstances. His heart belonged to God no matter what.

That kind of faith doesn’t happen accidentally. Let us all purpose in our hearts to run to God in every season of life.

It’s a little weird to say “Happy Memorial Day” since this day is dedicated to those who lost their lives in service to this nation. But because of their great sacrifices, thats exactly what it is for the rest of us...a happy, joyful, blessed day. They died so we could all live, and enjoy the freedom we’ve been given.

To every family who feels that loss, you’re in our prayers.
