Malawi Missions Trip – June 9–25, 2026

This June, we have the incredible opportunity to travel to Malawi in Southeast Africa to continue the work of strengthening leaders, building the Church, and advancing the Gospel.

From June 9–25, our team will be ministering in multiple regions with a focus on leadership development and church strengthening.

We will begin our journey in Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi, where we will spend the first three days teaching and pouring into pastors and leaders at a regional conference. This time will be focused on equipping, encouraging, and empowering those who are on the front lines of ministry across the nation.

From there, we will travel north to Mzuzu, where we will partner with Dr. Blessing Mwakibinga. In this region, we will be ministering at their main campus that is currently being developed, as well as visiting and serving in the surrounding churches that have been planted out of this growing ministry.

Throughout the trip, we will be preaching, teaching, encouraging leaders, and ministering to local congregations as the need arises. Our heart is to strengthen what God is building, support indigenous leadership, and see lives transformed through the power of Jesus Christ.

We believe this is more than a trip—it is a divine assignment. We are going to sow into leaders, stand with the Church, and be a part of what God is doing in Malawi.

How You Can Be a Part

We are inviting you to partner with us in two powerful ways:

1. Pray

Your prayers matter. Please pray for:
• Protection and safe travel
• Strength and unity for our team
• Open hearts and a powerful move of God
• Lasting impact in every church and leader we encounter

2. Give

If you feel led, we invite you to sow into this mission. Your generosity helps make it possible to:
• Equip pastors and leaders
• Support church plants and ministry efforts
• Provide resources where they are needed most
• Advance the Gospel in regions hungry for truth

Every gift—large or small—makes a difference.

Day 7 – Peru 🇵🇪 Mission Feb ’26

We’re used to parades in the U.S., but Esmirna Church doesn’t just host a parade—they take over the streets! 🙌🎉
We were honored to be part of it and joined the celebration by stopping at a local store to buy 25 bags of candy to throw to the crowd. They had never experienced anything like that before—and the smiles said it all. The kids and the adults were absolutely overjoyed. 🍬❤️

We closed the night with a powerful service—over an hour and a half of worship, followed by Pastor David sharing on the Oil of God’s anointing on our lives. The response was overwhelming. Hundreds came forward, hungry for more of God and His anointing.

What a night. What a people. What a move of God. 🔥🙏

Day 6 – Peru 🇵🇪 Mission Feb ’26

What a full and powerful day! Today we held two teaching sessions and a night service, and the presence of God met us at every turn.

Pastor David spoke to a room filled with young people hungry for God—over 200 responded to the call to ministry. What a moment to witness the next generation say yes to the call of God on their lives.

Julie had the privilege of speaking to 250+ pastors who traveled in for the anniversary celebration. In a beautiful, unplanned moment, she also led an impromptu baby dedication—a powerful reminder that ministry always makes room for what God is doing in the moment.

In the afternoon sessions, Jerry Gano and Pastor David poured into the pastors, and Hayley Keene closed the teaching time by sharing her testimony. The atmosphere was rich, honest, and deeply impactful.

The night service was WILD—full of joy, celebration, and passionate worship! We closed the evening by washing the feet of several of our Fathering Leaders who are faithfully serving in ministry, honoring them through humility and love.

Grateful. Humbled. Expectant.
God is moving in Peru. 🔥🙏🇵🇪

Day 5 – Peru 🇵🇪 Mission Feb ’26 – The Anniversary 😬🙏🏼

We made the 3.5-hour journey back over the mountains from Yurimaguas into Tarapoto to begin the 36th Anniversary of Esmirna Iglesia 🙌

The evening service was powerful—God’s people filling the house, lifting their voices in worship. Pastor David Gomez brought the opening message, and together we joined as one body, praising and worshiping the Lord—the Body of Christ.

What a joy to celebrate all that God has done and is still doing! 🙏🔥

Day 4 – Part 3 | Peru 🇵🇪 Mission Feb ’26 – The Experience 😬🙏🏼

We delivered the rice and sugar to the Esmirna church in the village, and it was received with such gratitude and joy. The pastors shared it with many of the beautiful local families, and the atmosphere was filled with smiles, thankfulness, and blessing.

Before we began our journey home, they made sure—just as they always do—to fill our stomachs and our hearts with homemade chicken soup. ❤️

The indigenous people of Parinari will forever remain in our hearts. 🇵🇪✨

Day 4 – Part 2 | Peru 🇵🇪 Mission Feb ’26 – The People 😬🙏🏼

Our FL team shared today, and Jamie and Katie did an incredible job pouring out their hearts. Tears filled the room as the Holy Spirit moved powerfully among the people of Parinari. During the altar call, some came forward for salvation, while others came seeking prayer and healing. God is truly moving in this place. 🙏🔥

Day 4 – Part 1 | Peru 🇵🇪 Mission Feb ’26 – The Journey! 😬🙏🏼

WHAT. A. DAY.

Today we purchased 8 bags of rice (100 lbs each) and 4 bags of sugar (100 lbs each) to take into the village. After loading everything up, we departed Yurimaguas by river taxi and began the journey to Parinari.

Parinari is a remote river village deep in the Amazon region of northeastern Peru. It sits along the Marañón River and is only accessible by boat, followed by ground transportation, surrounded by dense jungle and small communities scattered along the waterways. Life here revolves around the river—fishing, farming, travel, and daily survival all depend on it. Resources are limited, infrastructure is minimal, but the people are incredibly rich in hospitality, resilience, and openness to God. In places like this—far from convenience and comfort—the presence of God feels especially near, and the hunger for hope, healing, and truth is unmistakable. 🌿🇵🇪🔥

With so many pictures from today, I’m breaking this day into multiple posts.
This one is all about the journey to and from Parinari.

It was filled with prayer moments—especially one main prayer: “Lord, no rain.” 🌧️
And praise God, it didn’t rain until we were already covered in the river taxi and almost back to Yurimaguas.

Grateful. Humbled. Expectant. 🙏🏼

Day 3 - Peru 🇵🇪 Feb 2026 Missions
After a 4 hour trip over the mountains we arrived in our next ministry location, Yurimaquas Peru.

Yurimaguas is a vibrant river city in the Peruvian Amazon, known as the gateway between the Andes and the jungle. Sitting along the Huallaga River, it’s a hub of culture, trade, and missions—where the warmth of the people matches the beauty of the rainforest. Grateful to be in a place where God is clearly moving and hearts are wide open. 🌿🔥

We ministered in one of our Esmirna Iglesias churches we have supported for several years and the pastors are always so welcoming.

Mathew Craig and Jerry Gano both shared and did amazing and set the stage for an incredible altar and prayer time. God is always good! 🤍🙌🏼

Day 2 – Peru 🇵🇪 | February 2026

WOW. What an incredible day in Tarapoto.

We had services this morning and tonight at the main campus in Tarapoto, and the presence of God was undeniable. The day was filled with holy wow moments. We witnessed healing after healing—backs straightened, knees restored, joints and feet healed, pain leaving bodies instantly. Miracle after miracle. Beyond the physical healings, hearts were encouraged, faith was strengthened, and people were empowered by the love and power of Jesus.

And then—after tonight’s service—First Love was invited into three more nations: Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia. God is opening doors we didn’t knock on. 🌍🔥

Our team continues to rise to the moment. They are pouring out love, serving selflessly, and honoring the incredible people of Peru with everything they have. So proud of this team and so grateful for what God is doing.

More to come. We’re just getting started. 🙏🔥

Our missions team landed in Tarapoto yesterday morning and we were greeted at the airport by our friends waving. After a few hours of getting into our hotel and resting, we ended the day ministering at a church outside of Tarapoto in a small village called Juan Guerra.

Juan Guerra is a small rural district and village in the San Martín region of northeastern Peru, located about 8 miles south of Tarapoto. Set in the Amazon foothills, Juan Guerra is a quiet agricultural community where daily life centers around farming, family, and faith, with crops like rice, cassava, and plantains supporting the local economy. The village has deep historical roots tied to early settlers and carries a strong sense of tradition, expressed through community festivals, Catholic celebrations, and close-knit relationships. Though small and humble, Juan Guerra reflects the resilient spirit of rural Peru—simple in structure, rich in culture, and deeply connected to the land and its people.

Rachel shared her amazing story of Gods grace and Pastor David preached “Rebuilding The Roof”. Many came down for prayer and our team didn’t hesitate to begin praying for everyone that came down. God did a great work and it’s only the first day!!!
