Dear Rocky Mount Bible Church Family,

Alas, it seems as though the weather will be nasty and the roads dangerously slick Sunday morning. The Lord is in control of this, too. And while we will not meet in person Sunday morning, that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a worshipful moment at home! Here are some helpful things to consider as you worship at home, warm and dry:

1. Read the next passage we’ll cover in Matthew. This is Matthew 5:43-48. This paragraph, the final of Jesus’ six antitheses, addresses loving one’s enemies. We’re struck by the fact that Jesus has loved us, even when we were His enemies! (Cf. Romans 5:8-10).

2. Spend some time in prayer! Ask the Lord to help you love your family, your Church, your neighbors, and even your enemies, more and more.

3. Do you want to learn more about Matthew’s gospel and how it fits into the New Testament? Try watching this video https://bibleproject.com/videos/gospel-kingdom/ from our friends at The Bible Project. It’s a helpful (and mercifully brief) explanation of the meaning of Jesus’ kingdom.

Good morning! While we know there is a major weather system headed toward Eastern NC, we do not yet know how it will directly impact our area. Our Leadership Team has decided to postpone our Outreach Team meeting scheduled for Sunday morning, and we will continue to monitor the approaching storm. We will make a determination about Sunday worship activities on Saturday afternoon. Keep praying, and remember to check in on friends and neighbors!
