Ash Wednesday serves as a reminder that though we are dust our story does not end there. Our Savior rose from the dust of the tomb to call us His own. And because He lives, returning to dust will not be the end of our story either. The resurrection of Jesus is a promise of the gift of eternal life for all believers.
