At First Church, we believe that faith becomes visible when God’s people come together to make a difference.

Through our June Mission Focus, we are raising funds to purchase baby chicks that will grow into laying hens, providing a sustainable source of eggs for our Monday Morning Community Breakfast and local community shelters. This simple investment has the potential to provide nourishment, hope, and care for many people in our area for years to come.

You can participate by sponsoring:
1 Chick – $10
5 Chicks – $50
10 Chicks – $100
Or any amount you feel led to give.

This project reflects our mission, “To Know Christ and Make Christ Known.” As we care for our neighbors and help feed those experiencing food insecurity, we are living out Christ’s call to love and serve others.

Each month, First Church will identify a new missional focus, inviting us to come together as One Church. One Mission. Together. Through these collective efforts, we hope to bring about meaningful change in Rocky Mount, throughout Eastern North Carolina, and around the world.

Day TWO (and our final day!) at our FUMC Family Retreat at Don Lee Camp & Retreat Center was nothing short of incredible!

We started the morning worshipping together outside—lifting our voices in song, sharing in communion, and diving into the powerful story of Jesus appearing to His disciples on the shore. After catching NOTHING, they followed His guidance, cast their nets to the right, and brought in 153 fish—what a beautiful reminder of trusting Him, even when it doesn’t make sense!

From there, the fun continued as families built their own sailing boats and headed down to the pier to fish—bringing our morning scripture to life in such a meaningful, hands-on way.

It was a truly special time filled with laughter, connection, and moments we’ll never forget. We are so grateful for our church family and for everyone who set aside time to be together this weekend—growing in faith, love, and community. What a blessing! 💙 First Church - Rocky Mount
