MARTYR ANNIVERSARY: On this day in 1956, missionaries Jim Elliot, Pete Fleming, Ed McCully, Nate Saint and Roger Youderian were violently killed by the Waodani tribe in Ecuador. The five had spent months contacting the Waodanis through over-flights and gift exchanges via an ingenious bucket drop. Though the tribe had a history of violent encounters with outsiders, the men had decided they'd established a degree of mutual trust that would support direct contact.

Within two years of their deaths, Elisabeth Elliot and Nate Saint’s sister made a friendly and lasting contact with the Waodanis, and translation of the Bible into the Waodani language began. One by one, the men who murdered the missionaries became believers in the One who sent the five to reach them.

Each day of the first week of 2026, we're calling you to pray for our nation. Join us in our annual Week of Prayer as we lift up our schools, leaders, and churches.

Today, we're lifting up our country's schools. Education shapes the future, and today we lift up every student, teacher, and staff member across our schools and campuses.

Ask God to pour out His Spirit on these places of learning and to protect all who study and work there. Pray for wisdom, safety, and a strong sense of purpose for every individual involved in education.

This is the season that reminds us how the Prince of Peace stepped into the world, calming our restless hearts and reconciling us to the Father. Just as the angels proclaimed "peace on earth," we can experience Christ’s everlasting peace the world cannot give. As we prepare our hearts for Jesus to return, join us in prayer for our missionaries serving in places of conflict, our church partners bringing reconciliation, and the transforming work happening worldwide.

Everyone is coming to the aid of this precious country. Saturday night we will have a special booth dedicated to Jamaica! There will be an opportunity for you to be able to help convoy of Hope aid Jamaica, and give them the hope of Jesus Christ!

🚨 Help is on the way to Jamaica. 🚨 Hurricane Melissa is expected to be the worst storm in Jamaica’s history when it makes landfall early today as a Category 5 storm. Convoy of Hope is working to get supplies to those impacted. Stay tuned for updates.

As a powerful hurricane bears down on Jamaica, we invite you to join us in fervent prayer for Jamaica, surrounding nations, and our brothers and sisters who are facing this dangerous storm.
AGWM Area Director David Speer is working directly with the Jamaica AG and Convoy of Hope. AGWM continues to resource the response to urgent needs on the ground.
Please join us in praying for:
- Protection and safety for those in homes vulnerable to hurricane-force winds.
- Reduced storm intensity as the hurricane approaches the island.
- Preservation of life.
Jamaica AG Presiding General Bishop David Ewen shared: “We continue to pray and prepare. Thank you for every thought and prayer. Much blessings to you.”
Even in the face of this approaching storm, our Jamaican family remains steadfast in faith and grateful for the global church standing with them.

Our missions team is wrapping up in Ecuador!!! 🇪🇨

God has helped them:
• Fix the roof
• Clean up the kids rooms and kitchen full of mold from leaky roof
• Tile the church floor
• Paint the front of the church ( and sides)
• Paint…Paint…Paint
• Clean the flower beds

This will be a place for many Ecuadorians to find Jesus and be discipled well.
