Good afternoon. Before any stories or gossip has a chance to begin I will just get out in front of it.
After much Godly counsel from men I trust and love, and after many hours of prayer and affirmation from the Lord. I have submitted my resignation letter to Bic. Robin and I are returning to West Georgia to be close to family. We were not asked to leave or anything like that, we hope to leave this church in the best possible circumstances. For those of you that have walked and served in love with us and the new families we love you and are thankful for you and the fact that you saw just how much God can do even in a very rural country church. We have seen Him add not only family after family to this congregation but also person after person to His Kingdom through our ministry. The past 4 years LHC has seen more growth and harvest than it has in decades and for that to continue you must move forward. And that is My greatest desire and prayer for you is for you to grab hold of that which you have seen and let it strengthen you to move toward the blessings God has for this church in the tomorrow rather than falling back to the comfortabilities of yesterday.
When I am gone don't listen to the scoffers and deniers who want to return to yesterday's comfortability but look to your faith and to tomorrow because there is nothing more important than reaching those who are around you with the gospel.
Bic and I have discussed it, and I will be remaining in the pulpit thru Easter so he will not have to seek pulpit supply during this most special time of year. So there will be plenty of time for us to have a conversation and to say our goodbyes. Please know that we love this church and being your pastor has been one of the greatest honors in my life.
In Grace, In Love, In Jesus
