IS GOD A LIAR?
Of course not! He has meticulously set people into our paths that love us, who are there to help us time and time again, who believe in us, who pray for us with earnestness, and who will not give up on us. He has tasked His heavenly hosts to wage war against the enemy on our behalf. He has given us His Sacred Word filled with promises to those who seek Him wholeheartedly and trust Him. Above all, He gives us Himself.
When The Father says He has a wonderful brand-new blessing for us, He is not lying to us even if we feel our lives are in a barren wasteland, broken, beat down, and filled with failure. God is telling us the truth.
When Jesus compassionately reaches out to us and assures us that if we are weary, heavy-laden, hurt, frustrated, depressed, sorrowful, or at the end of our ropes, He us telling us the truth that He will give our hearts, minds, and spirits His rest and His peace if we will just come to Him.
When we feel defeated, God is telling us the truth that He will make us His victors and more than overcomers.
When we believe we are alone and everyone is just trying to make us feel more guilty or hurt us even more, God is telling the truth that we no longer need to be dismayed because He has given us both His own Presence as well as our brothers and sisters who authentically care deeply for us.
Satan wants more than anything for us to ignore the promises and truths of God. Satan wants us to ignore God’s own beaconing call as well as the helping hearts of those who love us.
Satan wants us to think we are too far gone and can never, ever be worth God’s amazing grace and unfailing love. If that were true, then we would be the first out of literally billions of people ever born to not be worth God’s grace and love. That alone would make God a liar, for He is not willing that any should perish but come to life everlasting.
Our recovery teaches us our addiction lied to us! When we let our past hurts and traumas from others, or the addictions and failures from ourselves, determine what we feel and believe, and how we behave today, we will eventually recycle the old hurts and pass them to others and hinder future freedom and recovery.
TRUTH – Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
TRUTH – Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
TRUTH – Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
TRUTH – Zeph 3:17 “The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”
TRUTH – Isaiah 43:4a “Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you…”
TRUTH – Jeremiah 29:11-14a “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,”
TRUTH – Romans 8:37 …in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
TRUTH – Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
TRUTH – Romans 12:20 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
TRUTH – Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens.
TRUTH – 1 Thess 4:18 Encourage and build one another up.
TRUTH - God is not a liar and He wants us all to know WE ARE WORTH IT TO HIM! Amen and Hallelujah!
