Hello everyone,
In the world we live in, it seems like information travels much faster than ever before, so I wanted you to hear the news directly from me. I have received a call to pastor the Golden Hills and Fremont churches just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. After visiting the churches in person this weekend and a lot of tears and prayer, we firmly believe that God is shoving us far out of our comfort zone in order for us to grow. The churches voted to offer us the position and we have officially accepted. As you know, both Ashey and myself have lived in Maine our entire lives, so we are equal parts terrified and excited, but we believe that God is leading and we want to be obedient to Him.
I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you. You took a chance on an inexperienced pastor and only a year in we had to face the challenges of Covid together. Despite the struggles, we have experienced some pretty amazing successes together over the past four and a half years and I will continue to pray that God leads and guides Camden. Please know that this decision was not easy. I have always said that I will stay as long as you want me to or until God makes it blindingly obvious that He wants us to move on which we do feel that He has done.
June 10th will be my last Sabbath. After that, Gration Pererra, the conference evangelist will take over as your interim pastor. Until then, I will continue to serve as if nothing is changing. Please still feel free to call, text, or email as you normally do.
Thank you again for four and a half years of family and fellowship. I pray that God will continue to bless and lead.
Sincerely,
Pastor Richie J. Hawkins III
