God continued to bless me as my first sermon was on the radio in Rockmart Georgia just 1 week later. TODAYS THOUGHT:
Too Blessed to Be Stressed

In every season of life, God shows Himself faithful. He teaches us, strengthens us, and shapes our families in ways only He can. When we pause long enough to reflect, we see His fingerprints across every blessing and every lesson. His guidance is never absent, and His love is never withheld.

Each day presents choices... some that appear right in the eyes of man, and others that stand right in the eyes of God. Scripture reminds us that these choices matter far beyond the moment. They are recorded, remembered, and weighed by the One who judges righteously.

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
Revelation 20:12 (KJV)

This sobering truth calls us to live faithfully — not for approval from the world, but for the glory of God. Our lives are seen. Our works are known. And our walk with Christ is never unnoticed.

I thank God for a wife who knows the Bible, who discerns right from wrong, and who stands firmly on the foundation of Scripture. Her faith strengthens our home and reflects the beauty of God’s instruction.

But there is more to what is said from the Bible. The Lord Fights for His People. In moments of uncertainty, we cling to the promise found in Exodus 14:14:

“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

What a comfort to know that God Himself steps into our battles. He defends, He delivers, and He sustains. Our role is simple: trust Him, rest in Him, and hold our peace.

The Word of God remains our compass; our steady guide in a world full of noise. It is, as many have said, our Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. And in it, we find direction for every step.

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.”
Psalm 32:8 (KJV)

God’s guidance is personal. His instruction is intentional. His leadership is unfailing.

How Marvelous Jesus is!
“When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.”

These cherished lines in this old hymn, remind us of the future awaiting every believer! The day when we stand in His presence, redeemed and rejoicing. Until that day comes, we walk faithfully with the God who leads us, fights for us, and loves us beyond measure.

Good ideas can inspire us… but God’s ideas are perfect. In a world that often reshapes the gospel to fit its own standards, we hold fast to the truth that God’s Word never changes. It remains my anchor, my guide, and my foundation.

Church is not a social club, a performance stage, or a weekend hangout. Church is a sacred place... a place to grow spiritually, apply the teachings we receive, worship the Lord with reverence, and enjoy genuine fellowship with other believers. It’s where hearts are shaped, families are strengthened, and lives are transformed.

None of us are perfect, and none of us stand above God’s law. We are called to show love, respect, and grace to one another; even when some may choose not to walk in that same spirit. Still, Scripture reminds us that spiritual health matters, and protecting the unity of the body is part of our calling.

God’s Word is always our measuring stick. It is how we discern truth, how we guard our hearts, and how we keep the church strong.

Scripture warns us clearly:

A little leaven — Galatians 5:9
“A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.”

Mark those who cause division — Romans 16:17
“Mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine… and avoid them.”

Reject divisive people after warnings — Titus 3:10
“A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject.”

I firmly stand on this truth:
2 Timothy 3:16
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

My prayer is simple:
That all churches remain grounded in Scripture, guided by love, protected by unity, and focused on Christ above all else. When we follow God’s ideas — not the world’s — the church becomes exactly what He designed it to be.

God is moving! And I’m grateful for every moment He grows me through His Word. Daily study has become a priority, not out of routine, but because I’ve seen how much strength and clarity it brings.

Applying Scripture is where transformation happens. The Word holds every answer... for pain, for joy, for direction, for purpose. And at the center of it all is the greatest declaration of love ever spoken:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
(John 3:16)

That is love that saves, love that restores, love that changes everything.

The Bible is the Truth.
Jesus is the Answer.
God gets all the glory.

I’m praying your relationship with God becomes stronger and more real than ever.

The BEST is yet to come.

How was your Father’s Day!

We are truly grateful for the God‑fearing men in our church. Men who are unashamed of the gospel, who stand in the gap for others, and who share their faith with humility, grace, and compassion.

The character of these Men of God isn’t shaped by recognition or applause, but by a sincere desire to honor the Lord in all they do. Their commitment to spiritual growth, both personally and within our church family, is a blessing we don’t take for granted.

These men love the Lord wholeheartedly and seek His wisdom above their own. Their example reminds us that God continues to raise up good men who walk in integrity, faith, and purpose.

We celebrate them, we thank God for them, and we pray they continue to shine His light in every place He leads them.

As an Interim Pastor, I am beyond grateful for these men and others who do their best for the kingdom of God.

There are seasons when people will misunderstand you, accuse you, or mistreat you; not because of who you are, but because of what they are wrestling with.

But let me remind you of something unshakable:

I am a Child of the King... And I Pray YOU are too!
God’s gift is something I accepted freely; not by pressure, not by fear, but by faith. And no matter how unworthy I may feel or how loudly others may attack, they cannot change God’s love for my life - or yours!

Some people live double lives and want to blame others for their own struggles. They get angry quickly, call names, gossip, and run from real resolution. But Jesus warned us about this kind of heart posture:

Matthew 5:21–22 (KJV)
“…whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment…”

When people lash out, it’s often because they’re avoiding the truth within themselves. But here’s what we must remember:

- We cannot change them, but we can pray for them.
- We cannot parent them, but we can seek God in all things.
- We cannot lose sight of God, even when others lose sight of themselves.
- And we must remember: we too are sinners, saved only by grace.

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood…”

The real battle is spiritual.
The real enemy is not the person, rather the darkness influencing the situation. And yet, even in the middle of conflict, we stay humble:

Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

So today, let this settle deep in your spirit:

Don’t lose hope.
Don’t lose joy.
Don’t get angry.
Don’t get even.

Stand firm in who God says you are. Walk in peace. Keep your heart clean. And never forget — you are a Child of the King, and nothing anyone says or does can rewrite that truth.

What a week it has been.

My family and I have seen God move in ways that leave us humbled and amazed. Blessing after blessing has poured into our lives—renewed relationships, new opportunities to reach our community, fresh insight from studying His Word, and above all, the unshakable truth that God sent Jesus as a sacrifice for us all.

But what fills my heart with the most joy is this: God didn’t stop there. As we lean into our walk with Him, we’re finding ourselves in more spirit‑filled conversations, growing in faith, and watching God shape our lives in ways we never expected. This kind of growth brings new friends, strengthens old friendships, and deepens our experience of God’s love in meaningful, life‑changing ways.

My life is richer, fuller, and more grounded because of God’s unwavering love for His people. And the beautiful thing is this same love is reaching out to you too, inviting you into a journey of growth, connection, and renewal.

God is Good!

This song has been on my heart for a few weeks. Back in the day, like 33 years ago, I worked at Family Christian Bookstores. I loved that job and being allowed to lead the music and t-shirts areas, out of the Stone Mountain store. One of my favorite groups was Geoff Moore and the Distance. I feel they had a great album. But this song has been my mantra for years -

When all is said and done (1993)

When the music fades into the past,
When the days of life are through,
What will be remembered of where I've come?
When all is said and done?

Will they say I loved my family?
That I was a faithful friend?
That I lived to tell of God's own son?
When all is said and done.

Of how I longed to see the hour,
When I would hear that trumpet sound.
So I could rise and see my Savior's face,
And see him smile,
And say 'Well done.'

You can forget my name
And the songs I've sung,
Every line and every tune.
But remember the truth of Jesus' love,
When all is said and done.

Whatever you do in life, do it for God. Don't do it to look good or to impress someone. Just do it from your heart and give it completely to our Lord and Savior!

Sunday, May 31 will be a day I won’t soon forget. When I look back over my life, I can see plenty of moments where I missed the mark; times when I was focused on myself instead of my Lord. But I can also see the unmistakable moments where God was shaping me, stretching me, and leading me out of my comfort zone.

Since accepting my call to preach 4½ years ago, I’ve tried to keep my eyes fixed on the Father and my ears tuned to His voice. This weekend, He brought me to a new milestone: standing for the first time as interim pastor of our church. I stood before our amazing church family with one message on my heart:

“Are You Ready for God?”

As I looked at the Gospel, I was reminded of something powerful. Hebrews 11 gives us the Heroes of the Faith — but when we share the Gospel with someone, and they receive the gift of salvation, we become a hero in their story. Because one day, when Revelation 20:11 becomes reality, they will be eternally grateful that someone cared enough to point them to Jesus.

- If we are ready to follow God, our church will stand strong for the next 86 years.
- If we are ready to follow God, our families will know the name of Jesus.
- If we are ready to follow God, we will stay grounded in His Word.

At Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church, we are committed to being:

There are many things about tomorrow I may not understand — but I know Who holds tomorrow, and I know Who holds my hand.

How many times have we truly listened?

If we’re honest, all of us struggle with selective hearing at times. When I was young, mine came from excitement—my mind was fixed on baseball, riding bikes, and getting outside. As I grew older, I realized that same selective hearing can show up when I’m focused on what I want instead of what God is saying.

In our rush through life, we often chase things we don’t need but simply desire. Scripture warns us about this clearly:

1 John 2:15–17
Colossians 3:2
Romans 12:2

And yet, we humans keep seeking the wrong things.

Over Memorial Day weekend, our church held a singing. Because of how the service flowed, I—our church pianist—ended up singing last. As I listened to each song and testimony, I began to hear that still, small voice preparing my heart for what my part would be. We don’t use an itinerary for our services; we want the Spirit to lead.

As I listened, God brought John 10:10–11 to my heart:
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”

When I followed God’s prompting, He poured out His love in our little church. Before any formal invitation, people were already coming to the altar. Our altars stay open because God doesn’t move only during three verses of a hymn—He moves when hearts are ready.

As I shared the scripture God gave me, I felt led to give an altar call. Someone needed to trust Him. We sang Amazing Grace and I’m Coming Home, and right in the middle of that sacred moment, a young woman came to Jesus.

She got saved. Praise God!

When we trust God’s voice and follow His leading, we find ourselves exactly where He wants us. I may not be much in the eyes of the world, but in God’s eyes I am loved, chosen, and His. My name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Friend, seek God today.
Seek His voice.
Seek His love.
Seek His will for your life.

You may be amazed at what God does—and you may even witness someone you love come to Christ and have their name written in that precious Book of Life.
