Come join us on All Saints Day, Sunday, November 1st, at 11 o’clock, as we remember all the saints who have passed before us, and honor our church’s anniversary. We will be having a potluck luncheon following the service. Please bring a dish to share!

In this week's readings, a grumbling people in the wilderness wake to find bread on the ground and quails covering the camp, because the God who led them out of Egypt has not stopped providing simply because they stopped trusting. Paul writes from prison with stunning clarity: to live is Christ and to die is gain, and that settled conviction is what it looks like to hold fast to things that endure while everything passing away swirls around you. Jesus tells of a landowner whose generosity scandalized the workers who arrived first; the last receive the same wage as the first, because the kingdom of heaven runs on grace rather than merit.
