“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God." John 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth... and God said let there be light2…" Genesis 1:1,3
The similarities between these two passages shows that Jesus is God (the Son) incarnate, He is God’s word, in action. Jesus was there from the beginning with God and was God. But Jesus decided to DO rather than just BE. "For He who knew NO sin BECAME sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Cor 5:21
So now what we are left with is an inequal transaction. Righteousness becomes sin and in turn sin can now become righteousness of God.
So how does sin become righteousness of God? Through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross first and foremost. And how does sin (i.e., us) show and express that righteousness to the world and those around us? By becoming the action of God, the same way Christ did when he "Who, being in the very nature of God, did not consider EQUALITY WITH GOD something to be used to his own advantage; rather he MADE HIMSELF NOTHING by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." (Phil. 2:6)
Christ became a SERVANT. We are made with a purpose, the most important purpose: to SERVE!
Firstly, to serve God: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." And secondly is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29-31 FINISH DEVOTIONAL IN THE COMMENTS***

Do you have trust issues? Do you find yourself doubting your loved ones, friends, or spouses? Regardless of your past experiences, past abandonment or unfaithfulness, there is a solution to these trust issues!
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” – 1 John 4:18.
The solution is: Perfect LOVE. This love is not the love you find in your parents, spouse, child, family, or pet. This love only comes from God. God is the perfect Love you have been looking for. Once you know perfect love you can then love others in the same way that God has loved you. You will no longer be scared to love full heartedly. You will understand that regardless if the person you love disappoints you, you are already loved unconditionally by the creator of the universe that will NEVER disappoint you. This gives you assurance that you are valued, that you are cared for, and that gives you no reason to fear.

Matthew 9:26-27 tells us “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” If you find yourself worrying and living in constant fear, I urge you to seek for this perfect love that is found in God. You will find value in your life and come to understand that there is no reason to fear or worry because you have God on your side taking care of every single aspect of your life! Your health, your loved ones, your relationships, and your identity will all fall into place, because God loves you and cares for you.

God’s love for you is so intense and perfect that “He gave His one and only son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” – John 3:16-17. The world is already condemned and lost in sin, but God has loved us so intensely that He sent His son to die and be sacrificed for all those sins and insecurities that we may find everlasting life and love in Him.

A beautiful love story. Short and sweet. There was no crazy drama involved, no back and forth, and no cold feet. This is the story of Isaac and Rebekah (Gen 24:1-67)

The story of Rebekah teaches us two things: 1) God hears us and answers our prayers, and 2) We can be the answer to someone’s prayers.
The servant of Abraham was given the task to find Isaac a wife from his land and clan. As you can imagine this was no simple task. The servant prayed to the Lord that he may provide a young woman that when he asks her for a drink of water not only accepts but offers water for his camels as well. Before he was even able to finish his prayer Rebekah came out with her jar as God’s answer, and she does exactly as he wished for the young woman to do.
Rebekah was humble and the Bible says she was very beautiful. She not only offered water to him and his camels, but she quickly offered her house to him and his camels to spend the night. When the servant told her brother and father why he was there and how God confirmed Rebekah as the young woman to be married to his servant’s son, Rebekah’s father and brother quickly conceded. The answer given was: “This is from the Lord; we can say nothing to you one way or another. Here is Rebekah take her and go and let her become the wife to you master’s son as the Lord has directed.” (v. 50-51)
The very next morning the servant wished to leave with Rebekah to meet with his master. But her brother and mother wished for Rebekah to stay another 10 days before she left. But Rebekah decided to leave that same morning to meet with his master. Rebekah knew that this was from God and that she was the answer to a prayer, so she obeyed.
Everything happened quickly they met, the servant relayed what had happened, and he married her. And the Bible says he loved her and was comforted after his mother’s death.
Let us always have faith the Lord listens and answers. And let us be aware that God may be using us to be the answer to someone’s prayer and we should respond in humility and obedience just as Rebekah did.

Jesus Wept. John 11:1-44
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - -
A man named Lazarus. A man who Jesus loved. Brother of Mary and Martha was deathly ill. Although Jesus loved Lazarus, he did not intend to heal him. Instead, Jesus waited two days to tell his disciples they were to head back, meanwhile giving them the news that Lazarus was already dead. Jesus knew the entire time that Lazarus would live and that He will resurrect him for the glory of God. Still when Jesus arrives and finds Mary, Martha and the other Jews in mourning Jesus was “deeply moved in spirit and troubled” and the bible says, “Jesus wept.” (v. 35)

See, Jesus had just finished telling Martha “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me though he were dead, yet shall he live.” (v. 25) And still it never even crossed her mind that Lazarus would be raised from the dead. That is how lost and hopeless the world was. Christ himself, the Messiah was in front of their eyes, telling them he could resurrect him and all they could think was “if only you had gotten here sooner”. Because before Christ, there was no hope after death. Death was the end. Christ saw the desolation and despair death brought and he wept.

Christ sees your loneliness, He sees your fears, your hopelessness, and He weeps for you. As he weeps, he calls you by your name and calls you to rise out of that tomb you are in. He wants to resurrect you in Spirit and in Truth and bring you life, and life in abundance, for eternity.

As for the church: this world is getting worse and worse and drifting further and further away from Christ. They are still lost with no hope. Yet we, his bride, are here. We are called to bring hope into this world by pointing them to Christ. So, if we just believe, we will see the glory of God (v. 40).

Lot’s Wife
Genesis 19:1-29

To really understand what is going on I urge you to read Genesis 18:16-33 along with the passage of focus on today’s devotional.

The setting takes place in a city called S***m and Gomorra. This city was so lost in sin and evil that God decided to wipe it out and sent two angels to accomplish this task.

Now God had decided to deliver Lot from this judgement. The angels told Lot to take everyone that belonged to him and run. Lot tried to reach out to his soon to be son-in-law’s letting them know the situation, unfortunately they thought it was a joke and did not believe him.

The original instructions given to Lot was this: “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!” However, Lot was scared to flee to the mountains, and he plead to let him flee to a very small neighboring town called Zoar. The town was so close that the angels told him to go quickly because they could not do anything until he reached it.

Once Lot reached the town, then the Lord rained down burning sulfur out of the heavens down on S***m and Gomorra. And verse 26 says “But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.” Growing up I always pictured this scene happened as Lot and his family was running away from the city. But now I come to realize they were already in safety, far enough to where the wrath of the Lord would not touch them. And still, she looked back.

God delivers us from so many things some that are obvious and some not so much. And yet when we find ourselves in safes way we tend to look back. We look back wondering how life would have been, we look back missing things we shouldn’t miss, we look back wanting things we shouldn’t want. Lot’s wife’s story takes up one small bible verse in history but teaches us a very valuable lesson on what not to do. Don’t look back to where God took you out of, there is a reason he did so.

Today's devotional is on Hagar, her story is found in Genesis 16:1-16. Like, comment, and share! Feel free to reach out if you would like to see the One who sees you.

There’s always two sides of the coin. Hagar decided that she was better than Sarai because she was to bare Abram a son. Therefore Sarai felt threatened and in return treated Hagar so badly, Hagar felt it necessary to flea.

Hagar is a great example of how God sees our struggles.

The Bible says “the Angel of the Lord found Hagar”, this was God himself! God met Hagar at the desert. And he gave her a clear direction and path in order to be blessed.

God told Hagar to go back to Sarai and submit to her. He didn’t say go back and behave as you were. God wants us to return when we have gone astray from his will in humility.

God told Hagar to name her son Ishmael which means 'God hears'. Because the Bible says he heard her misery. Hagar was miserable, and although she did not look for God, God found her and heard her misery.

For me the most interesting part of this scripture is verse 13. Hagar says and I quote: “I have now seen the One who sees me.” And in some translations it says “I have now seen the back of the One who sees me.” Meaning Hagar saw God! She was a pagan and her descendants were also to be pagans. They were to be blessed but they would not fall under Abrams blessed lineage and under Gods covenant. Yet, God saw her misery even then, and he cared for her and blessed her. This is EXACTLY what Christ himself came to do ! To bless those who aren’t even seeking him. To offer salvation to all no matter where they come from or where they’re going. And to visit us and meet us where we are so that we may see the One who sees us.
