Gloria Dei Lutheran Church held its last service on January 14, 2024, ending 60 years of ministry. The church is now permanently closed and the property is now owned by Rockford Lutheran Academy who continues to use the space for classrooms and chapel services.

Stations of the Cross led by Deacon Nancy Conrads and Rev. Judy Hipple. This is a beautiful tradition- if you have not yet experienced it, please join us!

Good Friday, April 7 at Gloria Dei 6:00 PM
Tenebrae service with Solemn Reproaches and Procession of the Cross. Tenebrae means “shadows” or “darkness.” This is a service of prayers and readings with candles extinguished as we remember the death of Our Lord.

Ash Wednesday service is canceled for tonight. There is an Ash Wednesday Word on Wednesday online right now. The Ash Wednesday liturgy - with the imposition of ashes - will be celebrated on Sunday morning instead.
