Rock House Kids - RHK RHK reaches out to children in grades 1-12 who are in need, and offers them a safe, warm and nurturing environment. for those that need them.

Office hours are 9-3 PM Monday through Friday. Our program hours are 5-8 PM Monday-Thursday. Monday and Wednesday nights we work with 1st through 6th-grade students. We also have a Teen Leadership program (all teens approved by Executive Director). Tuesday and Thursday evenings are for just our teens. While with us, every child/teen receives a hot meal and a take-home kid-friendly food bag. We hav

e chapel time and grade-appropriate class time where the kids learn of God's love from them. We also have different giveaways throughout the year (school supplies, winter coats, etc.)

"Hi, my name is Danielle Jackson. I am the mother of two grown sons and I have four beautiful grandchildren. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 45 years, soon to be 46! I work as a paraprofessional at Winnebago High School, and my retirement plan is on the horizon. I enjoy gardening and spending time with my family. I also love volunteering at my church in the Faith kids program and enjoy all the different age groups there.
I started volunteering that Rock House Kids in May of 2024 and find it very rewarding. I started out working with the 5th/6th grade girls and continued with the 5th grade girls after the 6th students became part of the teen program instead.
If you ever feel the need to let God sow the seed of volunteerism into your life, I would highly recommend giving it a try. You might just discover you are the one getting the gift you thought you were giving!
Faith is a big part in my life, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to join in on the teaching and friendships I share with the Rock House family."

We recently filled the Director of Development position with someone who has been a Rock House Kids volunteer for the past 12 years. To celebrate, we decided to have an office ribbon-cutting ceremony. A ribbon-cutting seemed appropriate since the new hire was familiar with these from his previous position as the Director of Sales and Services for the Greater Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce. Michael Lacny is excited to combine work with his passion for the RHK Mission. He will continue to volunteer at RHK, mentoring 5th through 12th grade boys, while supporting the GRCC through their Ambassador program. Michael states, “The GRCC is aggressively growing and making an impact with the region’s most engaged network of business owners and professionals. They have a strong professional team that is making a difference in the community. I loved working there and will continue to support them while taking on this new chapter at RHK - which is where my heart is: work, family, and my passion for serving kids in our community.”
