Another photo of the great work the group from 1st Presbyterian accomplished during their 2 days in Rockford!

Our Pastor Jeff brought the 1st Presbyterian youth back today for another full day of service!!

It’s incredibly hot in our building, too. WE HAVE NO AIR CONDITIONING in most of the building and the air in the front only works a little bit. It’s pretty brutal.

Nobody complained at all.

They just set about their tasks, dripping in sweat and drank lots of water.

This group included, we had over 30 special service volunteers today! It’s was such a treat! We got so much done! 

And the best part for me is seeing all of the people with houses and cars and bank accounts mix, effortlessly and serve those that have a whole lot less. We don’t wear T-shirts, or name badges. We don’t call people clients, or patrons. We are just human beings helping other human beings here. 

It’s really humbling to see so many youth and adults work so hard to help us be of service to those in need of our community ❤️

It was a pleasure for Rockford WorkCamps to be involved with Miss Carly's from almost the beginning. They do so much for our community!

Huge thanks to all the youth from 1st Presbyterian in Clinton, WI!! They spent a whole day cleaning and organizing in our mini warehouse area!

It was A TON of work because everything has to be taken off of our heavily packed shelves one shelf at a time so that shelf can be cleaned. It’s a daunting project and they took it on with joy.

Pastor Jeff has always brought groups from surrounding area churches to help us through Rockford Work Camps.

In the beginning when it was just myself and a handful of homeless people helping me…it was the Rockford Work Camp group’s tireless dedication that got us through!  We have so many groups come serve alongside us over the past two years. Its such a cool program and I’m always amazed at how hard they work! The groups go all around our city doing service projects for the community and they sleep at churches at night.

Good Friday Walk for Justice, developed by friends of Rockford Urban Ministries. This annual Good Friday walk started in 1986 and due to social gathering restriction this year was presented virtually.

Thank you Pastor David Jungnickel and Lamoille UMC for donation of paint supplies and paint for the work we do in Rockford!

Today we helped at Rockford Rescue Mission Thrift Store. Rev. Gerald Pitney and his wife Nadine came to help a former alcoholic, Ray Stewart, who started mission in 1964. Rev. Pitney kept a diary of all those that came to Christ and here are some of the pages from those diaries.

Today we helped at the farm and made a boat load of sandwiches and 26 loaves of banana bread at Miss Carly's.

Yesterday, group was at Urban Farm and Patriots. Today help organize Shelter Care donation room. Thanks 1st Presbyterian, Clinton, WI.

Group today helped prepare, serve and converse at Ruthie's Kitchen. Providing meals for over 37 years. Thank you Bill Ge**er and other volunteers from Jerico project today.
