I’m going to get better at reminding our Church family to read their daily chapter by sharing more verses on the Church page.
📖 From Today’s RLC Chapter Reading: Proverbs 11
Proverbs 11:21 NKJV, “Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished; But the posterity of the righteous will be delivered.”
That first phrase, “Though they join forces,” jumped off the page at me today.
We can often think that if a certain number of people are doing or believing the same things, maybe there's something to it? Maybe they’re right? Maybe I should join them?
This verse reminds us that numbers don’t turn wrong into right.
We can look all around us, from politics to our personal lives, and see plenty of people who’ve joined forces behind things that are ungodly and wrong.
Don’t let someone else’s offense become your offense.
People may join forces, but God still has the final word.
The good news is, “But the posterity of the righteous will be delivered.”
So, when we see troubling things going on in society or in our social media feed, we don’t have to panic. We don’t even have to retaliate.
We can just keep preaching Jesus, loving people, reaching the lost, feeding families, discipling believers, building the Church, and doing what God called us to do.

We encourage everyone at RLC to read a chapter in the Bible each day. Of course, this isn't all the Scripture we should read daily, but it helps us stay on the same page as a church family. I've posted our September reading list in the first comment.
Today’s chapter is Luke 11.
I love how reading the Bible for yourself can tear down some of the false pictures of Jesus we’ve built in our minds.
Our culture likes to portray that Jesus was only about peace and love. He was always soft-spoken and never confronted anyone.
He never said anything that might offend somebody.
Then you read today's chapter and get to verses 37–54.
Jesus is sitting with religious people, and He absolutely confronts them. He calls out their hypocrisy to their face.
He tells them they’re inwardly full of greed and wickedness.
He calls them “foolish ones.”
And Jesus says: “Woe to you” SIX TIMES.
“Woe” is a word of warning, judgment and serious condemnation.
He was speaking truth with authority.
He loved people enough to confront what was destroying them and what was hurting the people they were supposed to be leading.
The real Jesus is absolutely loving.
He is the Prince of Peace who is full of mercy and compassion, but biblical love isn’t weakness.
Jesus could welcome sinners, heal the broken, forgive the guilty and then turn around and strongly confront religious hypocrisy.
That’s why we need the Bible to teach us about Jesus, and not what our culture helps us create in our own imagination.
