For those reading the book, "Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life" alongside our summer sermon series "A Day in the Life of God's Beloved", here are the texts and questions that align with the sermon from July 12, 2026 and chapter 1 of the book for you to reflect on this week.

Biblical Texts: Matthew 3:13-17, Romans 6:1-4, Gal 3:26-29, Psalm 118:1-9, 22-29; 1 John 4:9-10

Quote: "We are marked from our first waking moment by an identity that is given to us by grace: an identity that is deeper and more real than any other identity we will don this day." (p. 19)

Questions to Reflect on:
1. What is your morning routine? What are particularly important, not-to-be missed parts of your routine?
2. How does Warren relate the idea of waking up to the concept of baptism?
3. How do you think it would change the way you go through your day to remember your baptism?

Daily Practice: While still in your bed, take a moment to remember that before you do anything, you are beloved by God just as you are. One concrete practice to remind yourself of this is to mark your forehead or chest with the sign of the cross and say: "I am clothed with Christ and loved by God."

Check back weekly for texts, questions, and a practice for each week of the summer!

☀️✨ **Summer Sermon Series: A Day in the Life of God's Beloved** ✨☀️

Life can be busy. Messy. Beautiful. Exhausting. Sometimes all before lunch.

What if the most important thing about your day wasn't what's on your calendar—but whose you are?

This summer at **Bostwick Lake Congregational Church**, we're talking about real life: 🌅 mornings that start too early, 🤝 relationships that need grace, 💼 work that matters, 🌿 moments that stretch us, and 🌙 finding peace at the end of the day. Through it all, we'll discover what it means to live as God's beloved.

You don't have to have life figured out to belong here. Just come as you are. 💛

On Sunday, June 28th, Pastor Jonathan White retired from Bostwick Lake Church after a three-year tenure. We celebrated his service and dedication to the church and its members during both the service and a luncheon afterward. We thanked him for his many gifts, including his wonderful sense of humor, vast knowledge, compassion, and kindness.
